Watch out, this is a scam support centre trying to take your money. It’s just a bogus pop-up. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and shut down the app. Afterwards, run Rkill, TDSSKiller, and Malwarebytes to make sure your computer’s free of any nasties. Take care and stay safe!

Thank goodness I looked this up first and realised it was a scam instead of ringing that 0800 number. Now the tricky part is figuring out how to get rid of that thing on my screen and sort my computer out so it works like it should.

Got locked out of my laptop and ended up calling what seemed like Microsoft support but it was a total scam, just someone trying to rip me off. Absolute SCAMMERS!!!

I was browsing what I thought was a news story when suddenly my laptop locked up. Some official-sounding Microsoft page popped up with a number to call to unlock it. There was a loud alarm that wouldn't stop, warning my IP had been compromised and to call immediately for security reasons. The whole thing froze my computer completely, so I couldn't even close the window. Luckily, my job's IT team told me straight away it was a scam. After a tense few moments, the laptop finally unblocked itself. It was really scary and quite clever how real it looked.

My laptop suddenly froze and popped up a message saying my IP was infected with loads of viruses and spyware, telling me to call Microsoft right away. I dialled the number and a lady named Jennifer Morgan answered. She claimed to have found the issue and said my IP was at risk and needed sorting, which would set me back £590. Then she added £69 for each device on my Wi-Fi, which came to another £499, plus a year of free support. Be careful, it seems like a proper scam that could easily fool you.

I got my laptop locked after clicking on some dodgy Chrome article - total mistake. Then this bloke called Adam somehow got into my computer. They displayed all my saved passwords and tried to charge me £250 to put in heavy-duty spyware. The guy kept asking "can you hear me?" but I remembered another woman telling me to reply differently, so I said "I can hear you." He snapped a couple of pics of me, which was well scary. I told him I was feeling sick in my stomach and didn’t want to chat anymore. Was really uncomfortable with the whole thing.

Someone pretending to be from Windows security called me.

Got a call from this number, said it was Microsoft warning me my account was locked. Sounded fishy to me, probably some phishing scam trying to trick people. Saw this number pop up on some online fake popup as their contact too. Wouldn't trust it.
