Got a call from Andrew William on 0800 2081031 about a medical alert system costing 249 quid as a one-time fee. I noted everything down and said I'd call back later. When I looked up the number, it turned out to be some sort of scam.

Got a call from Andrew William on 0800 2081031 about some medical alert system costing £249 as a one-time fee. I gave him my info and said I'd ring back. When I looked up the number later, it turned out to be a scam.

Just like you, my father-in-law got a call from someone with an Indian accent insisting his alarm system had to be replaced straight away for £249 plus a monthly charge. When I rang them back, he was convinced they were legit and told me to check them out. Turns out, they were pretending to be a well-known alarm company. I reported the scam to Action Fraud and also informed the managing director of the real company - they were shocked and promised to investigate further. The MD of the firm handling my father-in-law’s actual alarm contract is also getting involved now.

I reckon he’s just after my cash with no alarms in sight - can shove his money where the sun don’t shine!

My mother-in-law got a call from someone claiming to be from the NHS medical team, trying to convince her to buy a £249 alarm. The person said their name was Sam Wilson and gave a contact number 08002081013. They also told her the bank would call her to verify the payment. We've contacted the bank straight away and are hoping to block the transaction before anything happens.

My elderly mum got a call from someone offering an upgrade on her personal alarm for £249. She ended up paying because the guy sounded so friendly and like he knew her details. Thankfully, I caught it before it went too far. The bank has been informed now.

My dad got a call from someone trying to push an upgrade for his medical alarm. They wanted £249 which felt a bit dodgy, so he told them we’d ring back later. They gave us this number to call. When I searched it on here, it showed up as a known scam.

A rather dodgy fellow claiming to be "Sam Wilson" from India attempted to persuade my mum to fork out a hefty "£249" for some so-called "active alarm" system. Thankfully, she had the foresight to consult me before making any rash decisions. On the other hand, my dad seems to be a repeat victim of such scams time and again.

My mum nearly got roped into spending £249 on some "active alarm" thingy. Luckily she checked with me before going ahead.

On 21/4/23, a mate of mine nearly got stung out of £249. She only cottoned on afterwards that it could have been a scam. She’s already told her bank’s fraud dept and luckily managed to halt the payment. Just wonder if these folks bother to check the feedback people leave. Makes you think if their mums and nan’s would be chuffed with what they’re up to for a living.

Got a call from the same scammer pitching a personal alarm for £249. Sounded pretty believable, which could easily fool someone who's not careful.

My dad got a call from someone claiming to be from the National Health Service. They were pushing him to buy a personal alarm for £249. Luckily, he spotted the trick before handing over any money. Just a heads up, watch out for these dodgy calls!

An older woman I know, lives by herself, got a call out of the blue from this number. They were pushing personal alarms on her. Sounds like they’ve got their hands on a list with the details of people who might be vulnerable - names, addresses, phone numbers and all. Proper dodgy if you ask me!
