I’ve seen this number pop up in some kind of scam that’s going around. Someone else mentioned it’s a phishing trick pretending to be Microsoft. They get you to download some remote access software and then use it to freak you out with fake info, pushing you to give away your bank stuff like card numbers, expiry dates and CCV codes. Basically, it’s all a way to get into your account and nick your money. Stay well clear.

The number popped up on the screen and my father-in-law rang back thinking it was some official call from Microsoft. He followed their instructions, punching in a code they asked for, and then they claimed his computer had been compromised and that they fixed it. Thankfully, he doesn't use that laptop for any online banking or other financial stuff.

I ended up chatting with someone called Cadwaladar, and they said it’s connected to the mortgage I used to have with Bradford and Bingley before they collapsed. What I can’t figure out though, is why they still hold my info even after Resoslite Mortgages took over the B&B mortgage. Still no clear explanation from them.

Got a letter with this number from Cadwalader Re about some security thing. When I checked the return address on the envelope, it turned out to be a marketing firm based in High Wycombe, UK. So yeah, this number and letter are definitely a con. Be careful out there, people! These scammers keep getting cleverer all the time!

I received a rather concerning letter from a firm named Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft LLP, informing me that there had been a security breach attributed to an outside entity on the 15th or 16th of November 2022. They advised reaching out to Kroll Information Assurance LLC, who supposedly would keep an eye on whether my private information had been compromised or exploited for identity theft. It makes me wonder, why on earth would an American company have access to my personal details? It certainly has the whiff of a scam, if you ask me.

I received some kind of letter mentioning Cadwalader, but as far as I know, I've never had any contact with them. I entered the activation code to sign up at Kroll, but right after logging in, they started asking for all my personal details, which I thought they already should've had. Honestly, it all seems a bit dodgy to me.

I received a letter at my residence referencing this contact number, claiming that my personal information was compromised by an external party on the 15th or 16th of November last year. They provided the number 08002081071 for me to ring. However, I did my due diligence and investigated the number beforehand, and it seems to be nothing but a scam.

Got a letter in the post yesterday, similar to what others mentioned, saying some third party had got hold of my personal details - name, DOB and some compensation stuff. Thing is, I’ve never received any compensation, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. The return address said High Wycombe and it claimed to be from an American law firm. This number was listed on the letter.

Got a letter in the post and honestly, I'm pretty sceptical about it. There's no way I'm signing up for any of their monitoring services! The data breach might be legit, but I'm not too convinced about what the letter is actually saying.

Got a letter in the post about some monitoring service, but honestly, I’m not convinced. I’m definitely not signing up for anything like that! They say there’s been a data breach, which might be true, but I’m not too sure about what the letter is actually saying.

I rang the number from the letter and it turns out it’s a real call centre for Kroll. Shame it’s shut on weekends though. I can’t imagine any scammers taking weekends off. It’s pretty worrying that some UK firm I’ve never heard of has passed my info on to a company in the US. I’m desperate to discover which UK company handed over my data so I can look into taking legal action.

From what I can tell, this really looks like a legit data breach happening in the US. I don’t think it’s some kind of scam. Mostly, they’re just providing online security services while they look into the breach. There’s actually a lawsuit going on stateside because folks weren’t notified quickly enough about their data being compromised. I’d say don’t just brush this off without checking it out properly.

I recieved a letter claiming to be from my employer, a big company based in New York, so it might be legit. The letter included a link to some “identity monitoring” service. Looks like that website’s been up since March 21. I checked around, and a few other sources suggest that this link might actually be authentic. Some folks mentioned the UK branch wasn’t aware of it, but honestly, that wouldn’t shock me at all.

Sounds like a total rip-off to me.

Got a letter through the post with a phone number that turned out to be part of some scam linked to the Cadwalader data leak. Be careful if you get something similar!
