This is actually a valid Virgin Media number but the woman who rang me wouldn’t answer any of the security questions I put to her about my account, so I reckon the number was spoofed. Seriously, always throw questions back at whoever calls about your account. That filters out loads of scammers.

Total scam - the caller spoke rubbish English, said they were from Virgin Media and threatened to cut me off unless I accepted some gear from them. I just ended the call, then rang Virgin myself and they said they never tried to contact me.

They called me about 30 minutes ago on my mobile. My Virgin Media account is connected to my home phone, not my mobile, so if it was legit, they’d have called my landline. They wanted to talk about my plan and asked for the first line of my address. I said if they were genuinely Virgin Media, they’d already have that info, right?
