This bloke called saying he’s from Virgin Media, which seemed odd because I only just ordered their broadband today. He already had my name and address, and he was asking if my order had gone through.

Had two calls in quick succession - simply didn't pick up! It's the same story with those pesky 0203 numbers that won’t leave me alone. Is there any way to put an end to this nonsense?

They did, but I was chatting to my family then. Today, I was with my sister who’s got cancer. I’m disabled too, and they kept ringing me 8 more times on my mobile. Like I said, I never heard them ring, but the landline calls said they were Virgin and they sounded like a typical scammer as usual.

Got a call from a lady sounding Filipino, called herself Mel and said she worked for Virgin. She was trying to sell me a phone and data package for £3 a month. She asked for my address and postcode. I told her if she was legit, Virgin would already have my details since they keep sending me loads of junk mail. Ended the call there.

I just received a call from this number. After a brief silence, someone asked to speak with Carl Porter. I told them they had the wrong number and asked what number they were trying to reach. The caller wouldn’t tell me and then asked for my postcode. I didn’t want to share that and instead asked which firm she was calling from. She said Virgin Media. I told her again this wasn’t Carl Porter’s number and she said she would fix their info.
