Pretty sure you gave your details to the bank at some time before. Banks don’t just dig up numbers from directory enquiries, they don’t do that!

What a smart scam, acting like they’re from Halifax PPI claims team. If it’s genuinely your bank calling, why on earth would they need your banking info? Surely, they could just check stuff on their end if it was legit. The person on the line called himself Ibrar Ahmed. Definitely don’t hand over any bank details to these lot.

Got a guy named Ade from Lloyds ringing about my PPI claim - he said he needed extra info on my case. Seemed a bit fishy, like he’d try to sneakily ask for my bank details. I asked for a number to ring him back and he gave me 01422 861599 and 0800 161 5175. I’m gonna call Lloyds myself and see if it’s legit or just a scam.

About 20 minutes ago, I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise. The caller left a message asking me to ring 01422 861599 or 0800 161 5175 about a PPI claim connected to Halifax. I thought it sounded a bit dodgy, so I contacted Halifax credit cards department directly. They transferred me to the PPI team who confirmed the call was legit as they're reviewing old claims to check if the payouts were correct. Also worth saying, I got a cheque randomly from Bank of Scotland about a month ago for an old PPI claim review, so it looks like the HBOS group are genuinely doing this.

About half an hour back, I got a phone call from a number I didn’t recognise, and there was a voicemail telling me to ring 01422 861599 or 0800 161 5175 about a PPI claim linked to Halifax. It didn’t sit right with me so I decided to ring Halifax Credit Card services straight away. They connected me with their PPI department who assured me the call was legit as they’re going over old claims to check if any repayments were unfair. Oh, and I should say I also got an unexpected cheque from Bank of Scotland a while ago about another old PPI claim review, so it does look like the HBOS group is really doing this.

This number is genuine. After filing a claim with a PPI claims firm, Lloyds rang me wanting to repeat the exact questions to get it sorted fast. I didn’t want to play their game though, because they try to find flaws in your claim to argue against it and pay nothing in the end.

This actually happened to me. A few days ago I got a call about checking my PPI claim from a few years back. I was a bit wary and didn’t feel comfortable giving out info, so they handed me that number above to ring back. Instead, I looked up Lloyds Bank contact details myself and called them directly. They confirmed the enquiry was genuine. Now I’m waiting on a callback to find out if there’s any extra money owed to me. Hopefully it’s good news! I’d definitely recommend always double-checking with the official bank numbers first, just to be on the safe side.

Like a few folks mentioned before, this definitely isn't a scam. I've phoned Lloyds a couple of times myself and they confirmed it's real. Just give them the reference number and they'll verify it for you. You might end up losing out on your refund if you don't check. Really glad I actually looked into it this time! £££££

So I got a cheque through the post and was a bit doubtful about it at first. I rang my Lloyds bank number just to be sure, and the person I spoke with looked up the reference number from the message I got. Turns out it was a genuine call after all. They said Lloyds is actually going over claims that were turned down before and rechecking them. I really suggest you look into it too, you might be owed some money you don't know about. Or, if you're not comfortable calling, you could always pop into a branch with the ref number and they should be able to confirm it for you.

For anyone worried this was dodgy, I phoned 0800 1615175 and it’s definitely Lloyds Bank. They’ve actually reopened an old complaint I filed years ago, back in 2005, and mentioned I might get a refund. They even offered to send me a cheque. So yeah, this number is legit - it’s Lloyds Bank PPI complaints department.

Got a voicemail on my landline around 10.15 this morning, and then about five minutes later, they rang my daughter’s mobile and left a message too. They claimed to be from Halifax Bank of Scotland, talking about a PPI claim from way back in 2013. They gave a callback number, 0142286599, but I have no intention of ringing them. If they were genuine - though I seriously doubt it - they’d surely send a letter through the post instead.

Got a voicemail on both my mobile and home phone from a number along with some sort of reference code. I called back and it turned out to be Halifax regarding a PPI claim I filed years ago, back in 2012, which I thought had gone nowhere. They asked me a few questions about my job dating back to 1996. Then, about two weeks later, I received a letter saying my claim had actually been approved this time! Since I’d had that credit card for quite a while, I ended up with a nice little cheque in the post. It cleared into my bank account just fine. Honestly, if I’d read some of the comments here before calling, I might not have bothered - glad I gave it a go!

They called me claiming to be from Lloyds bank about some complaint I supposedly made about PPI. The thing is, I never sent any complaint letter and my PPI stuff was handled directly by my bank. What worries me is how they even got my phone numbers in the first place! I'm planning to pop into my local branch to check with them. No doubt about it, this has scam written all over it!!
