If that number truly belongs to NatWest’s fraud department, then anyone who’s had their payments or funds frozen over some bogus “security” excuse should seriously consider closing their accounts. They’re not protecting our money at all! Instead, they’re just hassling us, holding onto our cash longer so they can benefit from the interest for free. When they contacted me, the so-called fraud team demanded everything - full sort code, account number, what laptop and phone OS I’m running, even the phone make and model. They even quizzed me about what subscriptions I was paying when they blocked my transfer. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m certain my account wasn’t in any danger at all when they locked me out online and on the app. If NatWest treats their customers like this, I’m done with them.

Informative? More like invasive! They wanted every single security question I ever set, and that after making me use the secure card reader! They insisted on my full sort code and bank account number, details about the operating systems on my laptop and phone, plus the exact phone brand and model. Then they even asked what the payment was for, and what kind of services the sub-contractor provided! And you reckon that’s standard? This isn’t protecting our cash at all! It feels like harassment and just a way to delay releasing the client’s money with no real fraud justification. Absolutely disgraceful!

got a call with ‘no caller id’ showing a voicemail on my iphone asking me to ring back 08001615165, but the caller kept saying the number wrong as 08001651165. being from the uk, i checked both this website and another one before trying to log into my online banking but found my acount was locked. i phoned the number and spoke to the fraud team who unblocked my account after i answered like 8 or 9 security questions about recent transactions. turns out i’d added a new payee and sent £10,000 the day before which triggered the alert and the voicemail.

I got a call from this number too. It’s definitely the Nat West fraud team ringing. But just to be sure, I checked their official website and used the contact numbers listed there, not the ones from the email since those looked totally different. They were just verifying a big payment I’d authorised for a new supplier. If you’re unsure, best to ring Nat West directly on 0800 161 5165 or 0345 301 4121 from their website.
