10 yearsThis phone number has been ringing me non-stop, and finally I got through to someone who promised to remove us from their list. Did it happen? Nope, not at all! They’re seriously frustrating both me and my wife. I just phoned again, and once more they assured me we’d be taken off their database, so I went along with it. I mentioned to the person on the phone that even though I was being nice - and it wasn’t their fault - if they ring again, I might not be quite so polite next time.10 yearsAs I answered the phone, I said hello a few times while it was still connecting. The bloke on the other end said he was calling about roofing in the area. He asked how old my roof was, and I told him it’s over 30 years. He offered a quote for a new roof, but I explained my roof’s fine, I’m not on benefits, and I don’t have cash to splash on a new roof. He then mentioned it might only be around £2 a day. I told him the roof probably just needs some ridge tile re-mortaring, and one tile has fallen off, but nothing major. Just minor repairs. Then when I brought up the tile, he rattled off my address - said 10 Troutbeck Avenue, but got my name wrong. I haven’t called them back since.
