This number called me a few times, and today I finally answered. They said they were from Sky and asked for my password plus other personal info to confirm who I was (seems odd - would Sky really ask for that?). They mentioned I’d just cancelled and wanted to give me a chance to stay. Not sure if it was legit or not, but if they want to keep me as a customer, they’ll probably email me. They tried to keep me on the line when I was cancelling before, so I’m pretty sure this wasn’t actually Sky. Either way, with their outrageous prices, I’m definitely not going back!

So why would they call to try and keep me? Felt a bit fishy to me. They even asked for my Sky password, which I obviously didn’t give them.

Got a call today from what sounded like Sky retention team. The call seemed genuine because they were aware I had recently ended my contract and were keen to get me back. I reckon this call centre is outsourced for Sky since I heard Vodafone being mentioned quite a bit. Looks like they handle various campaigns for several companies.

Got a call from 08000987937 today, 13/3/19 at 14:29. We're on the TPS list and only ever pick up if there's a voicemail, then decide if we'll bother replying. If it's Vodafone, our provider, tough luck for them. We've been bombarded with so many scam calls that we just don’t trust picking up anymore. People gotta leave messages now, and maybe we'll get back to them or maybe not. That's just how it is nowadays.

Just got a call like the ones mentioned about contract ending. So, who’s telling the truth, Vodafone or not? One bloke said he rang the number back and ‘Alex from Vodafone’ picked up, but others say they don’t have anyone answering calls, only an automated system. So, who’s actually right? I really need a clear answer for now. I might just check my contract on their website, but I already tried and their service is down for maintenance until Thursday 14th. Bit frustrating really.

Yeah, it’s for sure Vodafone. I found out from Google that Vodafone was the one calling, and the number showed up as the last one under the Sales Team. They only asked me to confirm two digits of my PIN, nothing more, and I got my phone the very next day. Totally legit!

Got a call from this number saying they were Vodafone. Did a quick search and found a message from Vodafone UK saying that 0800 098 7937 isn’t one of their legit outbound numbers. If you want to check if a number’s really from Vodafone, just google “is vodafone calling” and Vodafone shows all the numbers they use to contact customers.

Yeah, it’s definitely a Vodafone number. They ring you once your contract finishes to tempt you with deals so you stick around, and they will ask for 2 digits from your 4-digit code. I signed up for unlimited calls which locked me into another 12 month contract. They sent me an email to confirm it. They don’t ask for payment info cause your direct debit is all sorted already.

They've called me a couple of times now. Missed the first call but picked up the second one. The person said they were from Vodafone and sounded really sure of themselves. Told me my contract was about to expire. I'm not convinced at all. Couldn't find this number anywhere on Vodafone’s official site, so I just blocked it. I don’t trust these callers who claim it’s legit - of course they’d say that! If it was genuine, why would anyone bother checking a dodgy call site? It’s not worth the gamble!

That’s defo Vodafone. They call as a kind of follow-up after you’ve upgraded. They just ask for a couple of numbers from your PIN to make sure it’s really you.

This is Vodafone. I wasnt sure at the start, specially when I called back and they picked up right away. I ended up upgrading my phone through them and have already got it. Vodafone normally asks for 2 digits from the pin code you made and the date your contract began.

Received a call from someone pretending to be Vodafone, saying I could get an upgrade. The moment she asked for my PIN, I ended the call. Then I tried calling back and a bloke answered straight away saying ‘Alex from Vodafone’. Vodafone always has an automated voice before you get through, so there’s no way this was really them!

Yeah, this number is definitely Vodafone. They ask for data protection info just incase someone nicked your phone and tries to pretend they're you. Checking security questions is standard practice with most companies, so it's just them doing their job and keeping your info safe. Honestly, if they didn’t ask for any security checks, that’d be way more worrying ‘cause then you’d question if it was really Vodafone or not - which it is.

Yeah, it was Vodafone. My broadband contract was nearly finished and they rang to talk about renewing it. When they asked for my PIN, I said I don’t share it over the phone unless they confirm who they are first. Then they sent me a text with a one-time code instead. Got the code from a VodafoneUK message and gave that to the guy. After that, he didn’t ask for any other personal info.

Just like many others, I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s important, they’ll usually leave a voicemail. I’ve blocked this number, but these scammers keep switching to different ones, trying to trick people who aren’t careful. Honestly, they’re so shady and there should be stricter measures to stop these fraudsters for good.
