Got a call this evening, ended it quick but I swear when I picked up they said my name and claimed to be from... you guessed it, my bank! Watch yourselves, folks, it looks like these scammers might have access to stuff they really shouldn’t. I personally never discuss finances or answer surveys over the phone, so wasn’t about to share any details. Still, I can see how some could easily fall for it. Stay safe out there.

They called me up claiming to be from SAVANTA research, mentioning my bank and surprisingly knew my name. They sounded really believable, so I started asking them loads of questions. They didn’t seem bothered by any of it at all. In the end, I just ended the call. I guess some folks might fall for it though. Just be careful!

Someone called asking for me by name, but I said they must have the wrong number because the voice seemed familiar from previous calls. Turns out, it’s likely a bank scam. Definitely best to block and mark this number as spam.

I got a call from a lady with a slight Scottish lilt wanting to talk to my wife. When I asked who she was and which bank she was ringing from, she wouldn’t say her name and just claimed she was from our bank. Since we share an account, I pressed her on which bank exactly it was. She then said it was GDPR rules that stopped her from telling me. I work as a lawyer specializing in GDPR, so I informed her she was full of it and clearly trying to scam us. She hung up straight away after that.

I got a phone call where someone wanted me to confirm my name, but it wasn’t even my name they said. I was like “who’s this?” and instead of answering, the person just asked again “Is your name *******?” So I just ended the call. The weird thing was, I could hear my own voice echoing on speaker the whole time, which really made me suspicious.
