Just got a call saying there was some dodgy activity on my bank account. They even mentioned my last four digits, phone number, and how much was in there, so it felt legit at first. Turns out it was a total scam. I hung up straight away and told my bank about it. Watch out, these scammers are clever!

I got a call on this number after an earlier ring from 0800 368 3181, supposedly from my UK bank. It began with an email about a failed TV licence payment, pushing me to fill out some 'new direct debit form.' A guy with a Scottish accent named David Grey phoned me on this number, and earlier a chap called Vikram, who spoke with a thick Indian accent, rang on the other line. They told me scammers had got hold of my debit card info.

My actual bank later told me it was a scam. These lot are pretty slick. Just a heads up to watch out.

Sounds like one of those sneaky PayPal scams to me. They’ve really nailed the look of the email, it seems totally legit. When you look up the contact details, it even shows as a PayPal email, which makes it all the more convincing. Proper nasty trick!
