3 yearsIl numero di telefono di questa persona, 3483743070, si è rivelato truffaldino su Kijiji. State attenti!4 yearsI received a notification about a supposed dodgy transaction for nearly 900 quid on my PayPal account. They recommended that I call 08000584853 to sort it out. I didn't waste a second and straightaway blocked the number!PayPal4 yearsRegrettably, I fell victim to an elaborate scam after noticing a transaction request from someone named Clement Tyler on my PayPal dashboard. Foolishly, I rang the number provided, which turned out to be a supposed PayPal customer service line. An exceedingly pleasant chap, seemingly of Indian descent, assured me he would help rectify the issue. Throughout this drawn-out ordeal, they somehow managed to change my PayPal password without me ever divulging any details about my account. I rely on dual authentication-both a password and an authenticator app-yet somehow, they still gained access! As I had my Barclays debit card linked to my PayPal, they managed to deplete my bank accounts, including my savings, by coaxing me into logging into my banking application, all under the guise of needing to 'credit' my account and confirming my card details through the reader! They also had my MBNA credit card linked and attempted to execute a couple of transactions there, but thankfully, those were declined. To add insult to injury, they audaciously contacted MBNA to ask for confirmation of my online banking username! This whole debacle has left me feeling utterly wretched and like the biggest fool imaginable. I sincerely hope no one else has to endure such a harrowing experience!Clement TylerMBNA4 yearsJust wanted to share my thoughts based on what I've gone through!4 yearsI too encountered a similar issue, but I successfully managed to cancel it. Submitted by: Jill Skehanka.r.a.ma.llelun.as1Jill Skehanka4 yearsI got a rather concerning message claiming to be from PayPal, alerting me to a dodgy transaction involving a request for £890 from someone named Veronica Clark. It advised me to ring this number within 12 hours; otherwise, the money would be taken from my account. However, what’s odd is that the text looks more like it’s directly linked to this so-called transaction rather than an official alert from PayPal. I have a sneaking suspicion they’re trying to lure me into dialing that number, presumably to fish for my PayPal credentials. Hence, I've decided to play it safe and cancelled the request instead of calling.PayPalVeronica Clark4 yearsI find myself in a similar situation with a certain James Chambers. I attempted to sort this out through PayPal, but it appears there’s no straightforward method to address this issue. It's peculiar that PayPal doesn’t seem to have any mechanisms in place for reporting fraud after a payment is cancelled. Quite baffling, really!James ChambersPayPal4 yearsI received a message asking me for £890 via PayPal. The number I was provided with was supposed to help settle my debts quickly.4 yearsJust a quick mention regarding PayPal - every time I attempt to file a complaint, I encounter this frustrating error! It reads: Cannot GET /activity/moneyrequest/%7BlinkPrefix%7D/GB/smarthelp/complaints. Very annoying!PayPal4 yearsI've received an identical message with the exact same details. This reeks of a phishing scam, if you ask me.4 yearsI've received an identical message from Carolyn Gonzales on PayPal, requesting that I ring the very same number. The thing is, I’m based in Italy! I’ll attempt to nullify the request and report it to PayPal. Cheers to everyone for the heads-up!Carolyn GonzalesPayPalItaly4 yearsI can relate! I received a similar notification this morning from someone named Diane Isaacs. You might want to look at your PayPal account - there was a request for £890.00 flashing up on my side. I went ahead and cancelled it, although I'm not sure it was entirely needed as I doubt it would have processed without my approval. It caught me off guard to learn that requesting a PayPal payment was even possible, and it’s quite unsettling that they knew the right name. It seems the trick is to entice you into ringing the number provided - makes me curious about what happens after that!Diane Isaacs4 yearsI received a rather alarming email purporting to be from PayPal, featuring a payment request attributed to 'Matthew Ellis'. The message contained this warning: 'IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM Matthew Ellis: 'A SUSPICIOUS TRANSACTION OF £890.00 HAS BEEN DETECTED IN YOUR ACCOUNT. TO AVOID THIS AMOUNT BEING TAKEN, PLEASE RING US STRAIGHT AWAY ON +44-800-058-4853; OTHERWISE, THE FUNDS WILL BE DEDUCTED IN THE NEXT 12 HOURS.' Avoid calling that number at all costs! This reeks of a classic phishing scheme designed by scammers.PayPalMatthew Ellis4 yearsGot another dodgy email today, just like the others. It’s quite alarming that these sorts of scams can go through PayPal. One would think they'd focus more on safeguarding their users rather than baffling us with all their terms and conditions. I have strong suspicions that this is a ploy to get me to dial the number provided. The original email appears to be authentic, and I've verified that money has been solicited through PayPal on my own accord. However, the scammer cleverly weaves in a line about potential fraud, urging me to phone them to halt the transaction.
