Got a letter from Bank of Scotland today saying I’ve got a refund because my account is overpaid. It asked me to ring this number to sort the refund into whichever account I want. Thing is, I’ve never held any Bank of Scotland account ever in my life, so I’m pretty sure this is a scam or wrong number.

Watch out, got a letter that said it was from Halifax telling me to call this number about some kind of overpayment refund. I rang up Halifax fraud team and they reckon it’s a scam. Definitely don’t share any personal details if you end up calling them!

Every week, I get a letter that claims it’s from the Halifax branch saying I’m owed a refund. It asks me to ring 08000154872 so they can sort out putting the money back into whichever account I want. Seems a bit dodgy to me.
