I’ve just received a couple of messages like this, the first one popped up right after I’d switched my EE phone plan. I rang EE to double-check and they told me it was definitely a scam. Kinda makes me wonder if getting these texts is linked to me changing my EE plan or if it’s just a funny coincidence.

Scam alert! Got a call from someone pretending to be EE, saying they couldn't process my payment and needed me to update my details. Total rubbish!

Someone pretending to be from EE called me saying they had trouble with my payment and wanted me to give them my billing info again.

Got a message at about 12:20 in the morning saying there was an issue with my payment and there was a link to fix it. Really dodgy considering I’m not signed up for any EE payments! Definitely don’t tap that link!!

Got a text around 11.25pm saying that EE couldn’t process my payment and to follow a link they gave. Obviously, I didn’t bother with the link!

Got a text from EE saying my payment didn’t go through and asking me to follow a link… felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a text from 07942081935 saying something about EE and a failed payment. They wanted me to click a link to fix it. But I’ve never even had EE, so I knew straight away it was dodgy. Definitely a scam 🚩.
