While we shouldn’t expect instant results, the police can’t really address the problem properly unless they know how widespread it is. Got a call from some call centre, and the woman asked if she’d reached the Mellor family. Obviously, it wasn’t! This ploy isn’t new to me. I just said “nope, you’ve got the wrong number” and ended the call straight away.
