It showed up as one of those telemarketing calls.

I picked up the phone and greeted them twice, but there was nothing back. After repeating myself again and expressing that my time was being squandered, they abruptly disconnected the call.

Loads of calls came through from strange numbers we had no clue about - this one was one of those. When we see an unfamiliar number calling, we just put the answering machine on so they end up paying for the call. Of course, none of them bother leaving a message. We never bother ringing them back since sometimes these calls can link to expensive premium numbers. Honestly, some folks will try anything except doing a proper day's work.

This number has rung me about five times today and twice yesterday. Each call a different person, all looking for a Mrs Edwards, who’s never lived at my address. It feels like harassment with how often they keep ringing. I haven’t directly asked what they want, but I’ve given them all sorts of replies, from telling them Mrs Edwards passed away to pretending I’m passing the phone on, then leaving it off the hook for a bit. Occasionally I even answer in another language just to put them off - proper nuisances!

I keep getting these annoying calls from different numbers, all from the same woman, mostly starting with 020. They ring me constantly, sometimes loads times a day - today alone I’ve had three calls in just one hour! They try to trick you with stuff about upgrading your energy supply or “updating technology”. It’s honestly driving me mad.
