I received a text stating that my Amazon account is now locked, along with a dodgy link to supposedly regain access. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Got a couple of messages off this number asking if I was eligible for a supposedly FREE boiler through some scrappage scheme or whatever. Since I’m in a council flat, I just deleted them straight away and blocked the number.

I got a long text from 07860039048 about a rental ad I posted on Gumtree, sounded pretty convincing but a bit weird. I nearly replied, but thought I’d ring first and the message said “this number isn’t recognised”. Fingers crossed I didn’t accidentally get involved in something dodgy.

Got a message saying something like "Get a monthly return of 2.8% from a government endorsed scheme. Winner of the 2016 wealth prize + totally tax free. Minimum £5000 to start. Text YES to find out more." With all the Paradise Papers stuff going around, it sounds well dodgy to me. I’m just gonna ignore it and delete it, feels like spam to me. Dunno what happens if you ring that number - probably some rip-off charges or something.

Got a dodgy text about some investment promising 3.8% to 4.4% monthly returns, claiming it’s backed by the UK government and offering a 30-day risk free trial. It asked me to reply YES for more details or STOP to unsubscribe. Not sure where they got my number from but I just ignored and deleted it.

Received a text mentioning eBay and some “Member 1650bullet” or something like that. I don’t use eBay to sell anything, so I just deleted it straight away. Any purchases I made definitely aren’t linked to that name. Feels like a dodgy scam trying to fish for my account info.

Got a message claiming to be from a user called ozworld5 about an item on eBay. They said I’ve got a new message from them. The weird part is they gave a link to check it, but it looked dodgy: [email protected]. This came through on 07/04/2016 around 8.30 pm from the number +447860039048. Definitely made me suspicious, watch out for stuff like this!

Got a message from 07860039048 about an ad I posted on Gumtree, with a link to click. I didn’t bother clicking it, but got suspicious and searched up the number here. Pretty clear it’s a scam. I said in my ad I don’t respond to texts, yet they keep doing it. Why on earth aren’t these scammer numbers just blocked for good?

Beware of a message supposedly from eBay telling you there’s a new message on your item from user ozworld5. It’s a phishing attempt to grab your private info. They probably snatch your number from your adverts on Gumtree or similar sites and then try to trick you. Don’t click on any link!

Got a text about my PayPal account looking dodgy. Rang up PayPal, and they said it had nothing to do with them. They told me to forward the text to [email protected] so they could sort it out. Also warned me to steer clear of clicking any links in the message.
