Don't ever phone a random number and share your bank info. Always use the official contact number for your bank that you trust! It's obvious they want you to ring a dodgy number so you end up handing over your details. I really hope folks don't get tricked and dial that 0845 number!

Got a message from Halifax saying there’d been a purchase on my account, asking me to reply yes or no. I’m pretty careful with these things, so I rang the bank’s official number to check, and it really was true. Some idiot had tried using my card in London, while I was here in Birmingham. Just a heads up, always best to phone the number on the back of your card to be sure!

Received a message from this number, so I headed down to my nearest LLOYDS branch who connected me to their Fraud team (someone attempted to withdraw money from my account). According to the fraud department, the number is genuine, and LLOYDS are sorting it out. DO NOT JUST IGNORE IT, you might lose money if you do, contact your bank immediately. THIS IS NOT A SCAM, despite what some are saying.

I called Lloyds on their 0345 300 0000 line just to be sure, and yeah, it was a legit number. I got a call from someone claiming to be from the fraud department and was told to ring my bank straight away. When I contacted Lloyds, they found it odd that the call had no name attached, but apparently that’s how the fraud team operates. Looking at other comments, it seems like this fraud squad might cover Halifax and Bank of Scotland too? Anyhow, they ended up cancelling my card and were really supportive. I was a bit rattled, but glad they’re on the ball protecting us!

Yeah, it's legitimate, but honestly, texting seems a bit dodgy for them to reach out, since loads of folks are on the lookout for scams these days. Back in the day, they'd ring you up and ask some security questions first. I got a text earlier and ended up phoning Halifax. They told me someone had attempted to use my info this morning but luckily the payment didn't go through. My card’s now been blocked and they’ve sent me a replacement in the post.

Right after, I got a text from this number saying I’d just made a card payment on that website for the correct amount. The text asked me to reply 'yes' or 'no' to confirm if it was me… I even got a message back thanking me for confirming. Being dumb, I replied. Then I rang the bank, and they told me they hadn’t sent any message like that. Now I’m a bit anxious and will just have to keep an eye on my account for any dodgy activity. Got a message from this number today and turns out there really is fraud going on with my Halifax card. Some folks here saying it’s a scam are probably the ones trying to rip you off - they don’t want you to do anything so they can keep using your card.
