I got a legit text from Nationwide but to be on the safe side, I didn’t ring the number in the message. Instead, I called the one on the back of my debit card. They told me my card was blocked because of some dodgy activity. Took just a few mins to sort it out and they lifted the block on my card.

Got a couple of texts from this number saying things like: Use code 585JSX to sign in to Internet Banking. Don’t give this code to anyone, only scammers would ask for it. Then another one with code 277VCP telling me the same. Then a message saying Nationwide wants to check some activity on my card and that I’ll get another text from +447860035281. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Got a message saying my Nationwide bank card was frozen and to ring a number to check it. Then another text came through showing Nationwide as the sender, saying I'd get another message and asking me to call back. I ignored both and looked this site up instead. Pleased I did. For reference, I'm based on the Isle of Wight, so this scam is definitely hitting here too.

Got 3 texts about money being taken, 2 were from old cards that ain’t active anymore but the last one was from my current card. I tried calling but was left on hold forever so I rang a number I already had. This feels dodgy as heck.

They claimed to be from Nationwide, which was pretty dodgy since they knew the last 4 digits of my bank card and said my card was frozen.
