Today I got a message claiming to be from Santander, saying I'd get a text about my mortgage from 07860020482. The message even included a reference number and mentioned texting more info. I didn’t bother replying, instead I looked up the number and found out it’s actually a scam.

Got a message from this number saying it was Santander, telling me they were about to send me a one-time password to confirm a credit card transfer. They gave that same number to call if I hadn’t authorised the transfer. Just to be safe, I rang Santander directly to check, in case someone had hacked my details or I’d done it myself without realising! They confirmed the text had nothing to do with them and advised me to just ignore it. Seems like a scam number to me. Hope this info’s useful!

Got a call on my phone from a woman saying she was from Santander and wanted to chat to my wife about her credit card. I told her to call the landline since my wife was actually home. Never got that call though, instead a text popped up telling me to reply with MORE for extra info. Santander wouldn’t do that - they only get in touch via secure websites and never ask for bank or card details over the phone. Definitely a scam, watch out!

I got a call asking for my bank info, so I told my bank straight away and they said it was definitely a scam. Honestly, this sort of thing shouldn’t be going on at all! What’s wrong with this country nowadays? It’s really depressing.
