It was Tesco fraud dept calling me. I’d say the best thing to do if you get one of these messages is ring them straight away using the number on the back of your Tesco card or their official site to check it out. I phoned 0345 366 1281, had a chat with someone there, they spotted some weird withdrawals, had my account frozen already and sorted out new cards for me.

I rang Tesco on their legit number and they told me this is a really clever phishing scam. Bet the message you got didn’t begin with your name or username like Tesco Bank usually does? Don’t reply to it, even if some of these fake reviews claim it’s legit. Always ring the bank using the official number on your card or from their website to be safe.

It's really the Tesco Fraud squad and legit too, I just rang them up on their official line 0345 366 1281 to check. I’d bought something using Paypal (linked to my Tesco Credit card) from Wonda Mobile, and Tesco flagged it, locking it until I replied to a text asking if I’d made the purchase. I just sent back a 'Y'. Nice to see they’re keeping an eye out for us, you never know!

I hadn’t got any messages from them before and was a bit suspicious of the number, so I rang the number on the back of my card and they verified the text was genuine. This was an authentic call from Tesco Bank. I’d just made a purchase online thinking I was dealing with a UK firm, but it turned out to be a company from China, which apparently has loads of complaints about items not turning up. I encountered a similar issue while I was overseas, where each text message charged me 0.35. Upon contacting Tesco, they had no knowledge of the specific number mentioned in the text or any problem related to my card. Interestingly, my wife also made a purchase of the same nature mentioned in the text, yet I received the message. It is puzzling how this could occur as we have completely separate Tesco accounts. My wife went ahead and changed her card, but mine appears to be functioning properly.

I received a text from Tesco notifying me of a suspected fraudulent charge of £1 on my card. Following that, they sent me a second text asking for confirmation (by replying with Y or N) if I approved the payment amount and the individual associated with it. However, when I replied with N to indicate that I did not agree, they responded by saying that my response was invalid. Despite my attempts to clarify my disagreement four times, each costing me 14p and totaling in 56p, they still claimed that my response was invalid. Quite frustrating!
