It was Tesco fraud dept calling me. I’d say the best thing to do if you get one of these messages is ring them straight away using the number on the back of your Tesco card or their official site to check it out. I phoned 0345 366 1281, had a chat with someone there, they spotted some weird withdrawals, had my account frozen already and sorted out new cards for me.

I rang Tesco on their legit number and they told me this is a really clever phishing scam. Bet the message you got didn’t begin with your name or username like Tesco Bank usually does? Don’t reply to it, even if some of these fake reviews claim it’s legit. Always ring the bank using the official number on your card or from their website to be safe.

It's really the Tesco Fraud squad and legit too, I just rang them up on their official line 0345 366 1281 to check. I’d bought something using Paypal (linked to my Tesco Credit card) from Wonda Mobile, and Tesco flagged it, locking it until I replied to a text asking if I’d made the purchase. I just sent back a 'Y'. Nice to see they’re keeping an eye out for us, you never know!

Got a text from Tesco credit card on this mobile. I rang the number on my card itself, and it was definitely Tesco on the line. They handled it great, cancelled my card, and they’re sendin a new one out now. Proper good service. I never reply to texts, always just phone direct.

I hadn’t got any messages from them before and was a bit suspicious of the number, so I rang the number on the back of my card and they verified the text was genuine. If someone tries to use your card without permission, they normally block those payments and cancel your current card, then send out a replacement with a new number.

This was an authentic call from Tesco Bank. I’d just made a purchase online thinking I was dealing with a UK firm, but it turned out to be a company from China, which apparently has loads of complaints about items not turning up. I had a similar experience when I was overseas and every text was charging me 0.35, which added up quite quickly. I contacted Tesco and they claimed they had no clue about the number or any issues linked to my card. Oddly enough, my wife did make a purchase like the one the message talked about, but the alert came through to me. How’s that even possible? We have our Tesco accounts totally separate from each other. She ended up swapping her card, but mine appears to be fine.

Got a text from “TesscoBank” saying they’d send info about a credit card transaction soon and to reply as instructed. Came from +44 7860 020460. The message said there was a purchase for £49.99 at NEXWAY DOWNLOAD on 17/01/2017, asking for confirmation. Problem is, I never made this transaction and wasn’t even awake when the text came through at 1:39AM! Proper annoying as I was fast asleep. I’ll be ringing Tesco Bank tonight to sort this out. Got a message from Tesco saying there was a possible £1 fraud on my card. Then they sent another text asking me to reply Y or N to confirm if the payment was mine. I answered N, but they came back saying that wasn’t a valid reply. I tried messaging them four times, each text costing me 14p so it added up to 56p, and still they kept saying my response wasn’t valid! Really frustrating.
