Someone tried to scam me by asking for my personal info. Totally fishy!

Can anyone tell me who’s behind the number 07873 020013? I’ve been getting calls from it and have no clue who it could be.

Just got a call from 07807554526 telling me my visa was used to buy a train ticket to Glasgow! I ended the call straight away - definitely another scam trying to catch me out!

Got a call from 07822432322 earlier saying my number was gonna be cut off in 2 hours. That was ages ago, like 6 hours back. I just ended the call and blocked 'em straight away.

Got a call from a 078 number late at night asking for my bank details for some insurance I never bought. They wanted me to transfer money but I said no way. Then they tried to tempt me with a 10% discount on insurance I don’t even have. Felt really dodgy and I’m sure it’s a fake company trying to scam people.

Got a call with an automated message saying it was from Amazon - total scam.

Got a text from 0789703221 pretending to be my bank (they named it) saying the last 4 numbers of my card (which was right) was declined for a payment to Kickstarter.

Got a call from 00447871732139 about some Amazon Prime scam. We’re actually based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Got a call today at half past two from 0781 066 9908. Some bloke with a thick accent said he was from Amazon and was ringing about a £79 order I supposedly placed. Thing is, I haven't ordered anything and not sure how he got my home number since it's meant to be private. Could hear loads of people talking in weird accents behind him. Told him I didn’t understand him and ended the call, then blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from 07814459193 saying it was “your bank” but never said which one. They said they’d stopped a dodgy payment and asked me to press 1 to chat to someone. Total scam, don’t fall for it.

Ever since I set up my Amazon account, I've been getting calls from numbers starting with 078. The last few digits always change. They never say anything, just silence. The moment they hear you speak, they hang up. I think it's quite worrying, to be honest.

Got a call from 07817 707700 today. Some robotic voice said my iPhone 7 was sent and like £300 was about to be taken from my favourite payment card. Then it told me to press 1 if I didn’t order anything. Totally knew it was a scam!

My partner got a text on his phone saying it was from Lloyds Bank. There was a link included, but we chose not to click on it.

Got a call from 07894852683 sayin they were from amazon, wanted me to renew my prime subscription, seemed legit enough. Got the call on 22/01/2021.

This person called saying they were from Amazon and claimed someone tried to buy a £49.99 gift card on our account and said it had to be cancelled. They even had some info from our Amazon account! We rang Amazon straight away and it turned out it wasn’t them. We’ve now put all the proper security measures in place.

Somebody called saying they were from Amazon and claimed a £1100 phone was bought on my number, asking if I wanted to cancel it. When I asked which card, they couldn't explain, then I asked why the price was in dollars when I live in the UK. They stumbled over their words and said pounds instead. I told them straight away it was a scam and ended the call. The number started with 078, but when I tried calling back it was no longer working.

someone said it was amazon and claimed a phone costing £1100 was bought on my number and asked if i wanted to cancel it. when i asked which card was used they couldn’t give me any info. i also asked why the amount was in dollars since i’m in england, and he hesitated and said oh, pounds. told him loudly it was a scam and ended the call. it came from a 078 number, when i tried calling back it said number not in service. wirral, merseyside area.

Got a call from a 078 number at about 8:30 this morning saying my bt internet and phone line would be cut off because of “suspicious activity” and asked me to press 1 or 2. I just ended the call and rang bt to check - they said everything was fine and that it was a scam. After that, I’ve had about five calls from numbers starting with 078 and 009 but they just hang up after a few seconds.

Got a call from a 078 number with a recorded message saying my Amazon Prime had run out and they were gonna take £79 from my bank. My wife picked up and luckily she didnt press any buttons they asked for.

Got a voicemail saying it was from Amazon, but I’m sure it’s a total scam.

got a call at 8.28 in the morning, with a recorded voice saying bt was gonna cut off my internet because they claimed i’d been hacked. they said press 1 or 2 for options. i just hung up since i’m not a bt customer. these early morning calls on a weekend are clearly made to freak us out. total scam! i only got worried cos i thought it was something serious with someone at home. lucky i knew better. loads of folks might fall for this tho.
