This number has been popping up in my messages on and off for about half a year now, and honestly, I have no clue why they're keeping in touch. They keep talking about university courses without needing A-Levels, just some work experience or GCSEs, and mention cash to help with living costs - up to £13,000 apparently. The whole thing sounds like it’s about new uni intakes for later this year or next. Still, it’s a bit odd how persistent they are.

Yesterday, I received a message from this particular number. The text was addressed to me -- "Dear [my name]" -- and requested that I call their department regarding my EE account. The contact number provided was 0207 288 8799. The text was signed off by Claire Young, who stated that they were from EE. I have chosen not to respond to this message and would strongly advise anyone who receives something similar to also ignore it. The whole situation seems rather suspicious in my opinion. If EE truly needs to get in touch with me, I trust that they will find a proper and reliable way to do so. After all, they are a communication company themselves.

Beware of an HMRC refund scam that tricks individuals into providing personal information. Fraudsters may send a form claiming to allow you to claim back money from HMRC. However, do not be fooled - this is a scam. Avoid handing over any sensitive details and refrain from filling out such forms.
