Came across a chap on Tinder who goes by the name of Andy, claiming to be a pilot. He’s been using the number +44 7759 169774. Seemed rather quick to move our chat over to WhatsApp. Feels a bit off, if you ask me!

Got a call saying I was a close contact of someone with Omicron, NHS said to book a test.

It's still going on, believe it or not! Sadly, my sister fell victim to it! Absolutely disgraceful!

It's quite frustrating that we aren't able to obtain the address of the individual responsible for the NHS omicron messages. It really is a pity, isn't it?

After looking into it further, I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that this was a bit of a con.

Got a message saying NHS: You've been close to someone with the Omicron Variant. Get your test kit now at https//urgent-test-kit.com. Thing is, I haven’t been anywhere near anyone recently, so I knew straight away it was dodgy. Didn’t touch the link at all. Looks like a trick to steal personal info, bank details, or maybe even to infect your device with malware. Plus, when I checked, the site was set up just 4 days ago, so definitely not legit.

Just got a message from this number super early at 5:44am and it felt really dodgy since I haven’t been anywhere with folks around. I looked it up on Who-called-me and, yep, it’s definitely a scam. Watch out!

Got a text supposedly from the NHS saying I'd been near someone with Covid and to click a link for a test. I'm stuck at home because of health issues anyway, so there's no way it was legit - total scam for sure.

I always get suspicious when I receive a random call, especially when they mention urgent-test_kit.com and there's no sign of NHS anywhere. Honestly, I'd just be careful and probably hang up. Better safe than sorry!

Received a text from this number claiming: NHS says you've been close to a person with the Omicron Variant. Order your test kit now. https://urgent-test-kit[.]com[.] I doubt it’s really from the NHS and the link wouldn’t open for me.

Sounds like one of those dodgy omicron alert scams to me.

This morning, I got a message asking me to order one of those Omicron test kits.

Got a message saying I've been near someone with the Omicron variant. Not sure if it's legit or just some automated alert, but it's a bit worrying all the same. Has anyone else had this kind of text? Makes you wonder how accurate these notifications are nowadays.

Got a call today from someone pretending to be the NHS about a test. Definitely a scam, don't trust it!

Imitating the NHS, it seems. Just like mentioned earlier.

The error in spelling has been fixed now. However, it’s still very clearly a scam, and I received a warning about the site being unsafe when I attempted to access the link.

I received a similar scam message, and honestly, it's quite laughable how clueless they are! It's almost cringeworthy! 🤦🏻‍♀️

They managed to spell omicron right on my entry, but it seems like their site has gone kaput. What a shame!

I received a text from this number purporting to be from the NHS, which struck me as rather suspicious. When I attempted to ring it back, I was directed straight to O2's voicemail. Clearly, it's some sort of scam, no doubt about it!

Just received a dodgy text pretending to be from the NHS! It’s clearly a scam trying to trick people into giving away their personal details. Stay vigilant, everyone!

It’s rather ludicrous to claim I’ve been in touch with a new virus, as that’s clearly a load of rubbish. I mean, I’m well aware that there’s no track and trace in place. Plus, if it were genuine, surely the message would have been written correctly, wouldn’t you agree?

Total scam! They're using some nasty malware that's harmed numerous people. I truly hope they get what's coming to them!

I received a call from the "NHS" informing me that I had been in close proximity to someone infected with the Omicron Variant. They urged me to order a Test Kit without delay: ...

Woke up at 4am to a rather peculiar text saying, “NHS: You’ve been in close contact with someone who has the Omicron Variant. Request a Test Kit today: ...”. Quite odd getting that at such an hour, I must say. After doing a bit of digging around, it turns out to be a scam, naturally. The website they mentioned has since been removed.

NHS: It appears you've been in close proximity to someone who has the Omicron Variant. Request a Test Kit without delay... I noticed that I spelled 'Omicron Variant' correctly in my message, unlike some of my pals who got theirs jumbled up. I'm planning to notify my mobile network about this.

Totally a scam, they can't even get 'omicron' or 'variant' right spelling wise.

Got a message claiming it was from the NHS saying I’d been around someone with Covid and needed to order a test kit using a link. Tried opening it on Safari but it just said the server couldn’t be found. Seems very fishy since I’ve been stuck at home for over two weeks after my chemo and haven’t really seen anyone.

Got a text pretending to be from the NHS saying I'd been near someone with coronavirus and needed to order a test kit. Then they asked for all my info, even bank details to cover a £1 postage fee. It really seemed fishy, like a scam to me.

Got a text from this number saying I qualified for my Covid pass and asking me to follow a link that seemed legit, something like https://nhs-covidpassapply[.]com. I didn't bother clicking it. I looked into the Covid pass stuff and from what I can tell, it’s going out of use soon anyway. Decided to just block the number.

Just received a nearly identical text message about half an hour ago. It's clearly a scam, especially with that same dodgy spelling of omicron. They're fishing for personal information like your address, date of birth, email, and even insisting on a pre-payment for “postal charges” - which involves handing over your card info. Definitely not falling for this nonsense!

Received a text masquerading as an NHS message claiming: "NHS: You've been in contact with the Omircron Variant. Request your Test Kit now: ..." Just to clarify, the misspelling of Omicron was theirs, not mine!
