Got a call from someone on 0771 265 8830 who sounded friendly and a bit jokey. He said he was a home efficiency officer from a company called Thi. He went on about some product being imported and supposedly the only one recognised by HMRC. When I asked what HMRC stood for, he managed to answer that part correctly. But as soon as I told him I work with the government and that, as far as I know, HMRC doesn’t exactly endorse products (they might check if something meets geographic standards like Scotch whisky, but that’s not the same as recommending it), he just hung up. Quite odd!

They claimed to provide a free service to spot damp linked to bad cavity insulation. They mentioned a surveyor would get in touch to inspect the property and suggest some kind of exterior wall paint treatment. Having worked in construction before, I'd say don’t fall for it - slapping any coating on your brickwork can actually hold moisture in. If there's a real damp problem, ask a trustworthy builder from your area to check it out. Just ignore and block the number - you really don’t want these irritating calls.

Some bloke named Jake rang me and got really rude when I told him he wasn’t allowed to call a number on the TPS list. He acted like the rules just don’t apply to him. He also claimed he was calling from ATS, which is meant to be for folks needing help with money! Honestly, report him loads - he’s a pushy telemarketer and proper aggressive too!

Got a ring from this number about a surveyor coming round tomorrow to fit some gadget in the loft for checking damp and mould. I mentioned we're registered with the TPS, but they just brushed it off like it didn't matter. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got a ring on my landline from 07712658830 asking if I owned the house at number x. Told him my mum wasn’t home right now and then he just hung up. We’re registered with the TPS, so not sure why he called.

Got a ring from this number, some bloke named David chatting about energy saving stuff. I wasn’t having any of it, told him to stop and just ended the call. Later I looked up the number and it turned out to be a mobile. This is the second time I’ve got a dodgy call from a mobile number like this.
