I had a well-articulated chap on the line who mentioned that a quarter of all homes suffer from dampness or mould issues that require attention. Quite intriguingly, he claimed I was eligible for a complimentary assessment and inquired when someone might swing by to take a look. I politely declined and explained my reasons. I mentioned that should I have a damp issue, I’d prefer to handle it personally rather than depend on unsolicited calls. His tone shifted rather rapidly, and I found myself cutting the conversation short by hanging up.
