Got a call from a young woman with a Northern accent about a tax refund, and I’ll admit, it sounded pretty convincing at first. I nearly fell for it! I asked her how I could be sure the call was genuine, and just as she was trying to explain, I quickly looked up the number online. When she finished talking, I told her I was hanging up because it was clearly a scam. She was polite and wished me goodbye.
