I got a call earlier from someone saying they were part of a repairs crew dealing with damp and mould in the flat. They wanted me to send photos through WhatsApp and said they'd ring me back to set up a date for the repairs next week. They even mentioned we'd get our rent back for three months, which just sounded a bit dodgy to me. So, I decided not to send any pictures at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were with a new government project about home insulation. Told him I wasn’t interested and he just ended the call.

So, I got this call claiming to be from HMRC, but as soon as I said I’d been with HMRC for 17 years and knew it was a scam, they just ended the call. Pretty obvious it wasn’t legit.

Someone called saying they were from Gateway, HMRC, wanting my P60 ref number. I told them I didn’t have it handy and they said they’d ring me back later so I could find it. Now that I’ve looked it up, I’m going to block the number. HMRC would never call you from a mobile, definitely a scam.

They kept messing up my name which was the first red flag. After going through earlier reviews, it looks like one of those HMRC scam calls. They’ve rung a few times but always from different numbers. Seems like dodgy scammers who either spam randomly or somehow manage to find real phone numbers.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Gateway and said they worked with HMRC, I didn’t even bother and just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be with Gateway Services, said they cooperate with HMRC. She started asking me about a PPI refund I supposedly got not long ago - which I never did. Then she went on about my job history over the past 5 years, but I haven’t been employed then at all. When I mentioned the Telephone Preference Service, she acted like she had no clue what it was.
