Got back home this evening and saw there was a message on my answering machine. A woman said that HMRC is taking legal action against me and to press 1 to speak to someone about the case. Honestly, it really freaked me out since I’m only 33 and haven’t done anything that could cause this kind of trouble!

My voicemail had a message from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying they were going to file a report about me. I called back, but all I got was a loop telling me to press 1, then no one picked up. I've already told the police and I’m planning to contact Action Fraud first thing tomorrow.

Got a message from some automated woman’s voice on my answerphone. Didn’t catch the start properly, but I did hear something like "contact your case officer regarding the claim against you". It was pretty unsettling. Seems like loads of people are getting these too, so at least I’m not alone.

Got a call from this number claiming to be HMRC. Funny thing is, I had actually spoken with HMRC earlier today, so I thought it might be legit and rang them back. Now I’m a bit worried about what might come next.

Just like some others have said, I got a call that took me to a recorded voice of a woman saying HMRC was after me and I needed to press 1 to speak to an officer. I figured there’s no way HMRC would ring me on my mobile like that, so I just hung up.

Got pretty much the same experience as with 07537130220. The call felt familiar like a repeat from that number. Overall, nothing changed from what I remember before.

Just about an hour ago, I got a call claiming to be from HMRC. No way do they ring you up on your mobile! I ended the call straight away, didn’t even wait for them to try and get any details from me.

Got a call from a lady claiming to be an "officer" from HMRC, giving her full name and saying they're taking legal action. She had an Indian accent. It was just one call, made to my elderly mum. I answered the phone and almost believed it before I remembered HMRC always sends letters first. Then I looked up the number and realised it was from a mobile phone. Definitely a scam.

Just half an hour ago, my nan got one of these annoying calls. Luckily, she’s pretty savvy when it comes to dodgy scams and handled it well, then rang me straight away. I’ve seen loads of other people saying the same thing on different websites. This is definitely a scam - don’t go calling back or you could get stung with massive phone bills. Really hope they manage to nab whoever’s behind all this.

Got a call from a lady earlier, claimed she was sending a writ for HMRC. Didn’t catch her name properly but she spoke English. I chose not to call back.

Got a phone call from a lady computer voice saying to press one to speak with someone from HMRC about some case they supposedly have on me. Honestly, it felt dodgy and I’d say be careful, it’s not a good sign at all.

I got a couple of calls pretty close together from 07537130220, but the number didn’t come up on my caller ID. Third time it rang, Truecall stopped it from going through. You might want to give 0447537130220 a go as well.

This number called my mum too, and she accidentally shared some info with them! Just a heads up, be careful and don’t hand over your personal details.

Looks like older folks are getting hit with this alot. Funny how the big Equifax hack, which the Daily Telegraph said included dob and phone numbers, came out around the same time? I reckon the way this scam scares people could be more dangerous than just a normal rip-off - feels like it could actually put lives at risk.

They said they were from HMRC, but surely a proper government agency wouldn’t be contacting from a mobile phone.
