Got a call from a mobile number saying it was HMRC and they were taking me to court. Totally dodgy, as HMRC wouldn’t be ringing on a mobile or leaving an automated voice. I ended the call pretty quickly. Sounds like a classic attempt to steal your info.

Yesterday, my wife got a recorded call saying we were facing a lawsuit and to press one to speak to a case adviser. She hung up feeling really upset. Later when I got home, I decided to call them back. The bloke on the other end asked for my national insurance number, but I refused and he just slammed the phone down. It didn’t feel right as he never actually said what the issue was about. We don’t owe any loans or debts. I called again and told them to get in touch with me properly and explain everything, I even gave them my address. I finished by warning them I’d report it. After that, they never rang back. Definitely don’t answer calls like this!

This number just rang me with a recorded message saying HMRC were suing me and to press 1 to speak to my caseworker. I pressed 1, and then a guy with a sort of Asian accent answered, calling himself Officer George Adams from HMRC, asking how he could help. When I asked him to give me some info since he was the one who called me, he suddenly ended the call! Feels like some kind of scam to me? I'll check my phone bill later and update if it ended up costing me.

Got a call today from this number, it was a recorded female voice claiming to be from HRMC and that they needed to reach me. I ended the call straight away. HRMC have all my info already and surely wouldn’t be ringing my landline using a mobile number like that.
