I received a text saying I’d been traced for the omicron variant and needed to click a link for a free PCR test. Thought it was legit, so I followed the link and it took me to what looked like an official NHS website. They asked for my card info to cover £3.99 for the test kit. I entered it, but less than 10 minutes later I noticed two pizza purchases on my card and someone tried to buy a PC game from Crazygamer Ltd for £194.35. Total scam alert!

Got a couple of texts from this number and another one before it, saying it was from the NHS? Seemed a bit off since it came from a mobile and not the regular NHS text number. Didn’t dare to click on any links. I rang the number back but just got an answerphone from O2 telling me to leave a message. The mobile numbers were 07519 328610 and 328599 just so you know.

There wasn’t any advice about isolating, which seems off to me, since real NHS track and trace usually tells you to go to a test centre instead of ordering online.
