I got a call from +447 451 269669 recently. The woman on the line was really pushy, insisting I’d asked about loft insulation. I told her I hadn’t made any enquiry, but she kept claiming that either me or someone at my address had done so. No matter how many times I denied it, she kept pushing and sounded quite aggressive about it. I ended up hanging up and blocking the number. Since then, I’ve been getting calls from other similar numbers, so I reckon they must be using a whole range of phone numbers to ring from.

Calls me then nothing, now it's a number I've had to block.

I reckon it’s a scam. Got a call really late on Sunday, and they were oddly asking for my DOB. Bit sus if you ask me.

They rang me immediately but I didn’t pick up. They tried calling again so I blocked the number. Then they phoned me from a different number so I blocked that one as well. Now they’re getting in touch through email. Seems really dodgy to me.

Got a message from eBay saying money was taken from my bank for a phone I never bought.

Got a call from a 3 digit number which seemed a bit dodgy, so I looked it up online before doing anything. After checking, I blocked it because it doesn’t seem like a genuine or safe caller at all.

Got a call from 044 claiming to discuss shares in 3i PLC, but kept calling it '31' shares instead! They said they saw my name on the share register. Not sure what they wanted me to do, but then started mentioning legal papers. The caller's English was really bad, and I could hear loads of background noise like a call centre.

Picked up the phone and found myself chatting to a Chinese woman. I decided not to return the call-should I be worried about anything from answering it?

Just had a rather unsettling experience with a call from an 044 number. An automated female voice informed me that I was facing charges linked to tax-related offences. It instructed me to call a specified number to speak with the officer handling my case. I had the good sense to hang up before they could provide me with that number. The call came through on my landline at around ###.0am. Quite alarming, really!

An outsider with a strong accent, barely able to talk English, began banging on about some debt we supposedly had but never said who they were. Obviously just a scam. I ended the call straight away; he rang back, so I told him if he’s gonna scam, at least make it believable, then hung up again. He called a third time, I just answered and hung up immediately. Since I work on a busy switchboard, I get this crap loads, and some are so hopeless they’re actually a bit amusing.

Same as loads of folks have said, got a strange 044 three digit number calling, no one talks and just silence on the other end.

This is the second instance I've received a silent call from a number starting with 044. I’m grateful for this website, as I've successfully added this number to my block list.

044. That number seemed a bit sus, so I just let it ring. Looked it up on this site afterwards and happy I gave it a miss!

A woman rang me claiming to be from BT, alleging that my internet had been compromised. She offered to guide me on how to block these supposed hackers. When I expressed my doubts about her credentials, she suggested that I verify her identity by checking the ID number on my router, saying it would prove she was genuinely from BT. I didn’t buy it and promptly ended the call. For several weeks now, I've been receiving automated messages warning me that my internet will be cut off in four hours. It’s rather concerning!

So, this number reached out to us on a Saturday morning in July at a rather annoying hour. We weren’t able to pick up, but later on, we attempted to ring them back, only to find it connected with no one on the other end. It’s all quite puzzling, isn’t it? Should I be concerned? What sort of dodgy scheme could this be?

Got a recorded woman’s voice telling me my Amazon Prime sub of £79.99 had been charged. I just ended the call cos I checked my Amazon account and there’s nothing weird going on. Total scam, really irritating calls.

Only got 044 showing up, then it just disconnected.

My phone showed 044, but when I answered, there was no one there. I stayed silent and then the call just ended, going straight back to the dial tone. Strange!

They ring me at the exact same time every day. I always check who’s calling before picking up, but this one just stays silent on the other end. Since I couldn’t block the number, I just leave it unanswered.

Got a call from 04416487474 about 8:15 this morning. Picked up but no one spoke, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from 044 earlier today. I never pick up unknown numbers, only ones saved in my contacts. If it’s important, they can leave a voicemail. I’m gonna block any number that’s not in my phone from now on.
