Got a call from someone saying she was Emma, working for HSBC, saying they spotted a suspicious payment on my account to a crypto site. She asked when I last logged into my banking app on my phone. I don’t even use mobile banking, so I found it fishy straight away. Then she asked for my birth date to ‘confirm’ my identity. I told her to prove she was legit by giving me the HSBC customer service number she was calling from. She said it ended with 4404, but that wasn’t the number showing on my phone. I looked it up on another device and found out it’s a known scam number. I called her out on it and she hung up instantly.

Got a call from someone claiming to be TSB, but I’ve never even had an account with them. Feels like it was just a scam to me.
