Got a letter the other day, said it was from Royal Bank of Scotland. It mentioned they were adjusting the interest rates on a couple of accounts I don’t even have. They asked me to ring a number to discuss it. I smell a scam here, since I never got a call and don’t own those accounts.

They claimed to represent RBS and insisted it was an urgent matter related to a transaction. I told them I've never had an RBS card, and it felt clearly like a scam. They promptly ended the call.

Yesterday around 8:45pm, I got a call from someone claiming to be from “fraud prevention.” I didn't say a word and just ended the call. Totally seems like a scam to me! If you’re unsure, it’s best to look up your bank’s genuine fraud department number online and ring them up yourself. Don’t get caught out!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from NatWest’s fraud team or maybe a ‘lost and found’ dept. They tried to trick me into giving my bank details like sort codes and account numbers. They even mentioned a scam text I’d got supposedly from the NHS, which I’d accidentally clicked on. Pretty clear it’s all connected to the same con!

Received a call purporting to be from NatWest's fraud department, and they seemed to be aware I’d recently gotten a dodgy message masquerading as the NHS just two days earlier. They mentioned the urgent need to freeze my accounts and insisted on changing my account numbers. Naturally, I ended that call and promptly reached out to NatWest directly, only to find out it was a complete scam.

I recently received a phone call from this number claiming to be my bank, stating they were looking into some unusual transactions. They requested some personal information from me, but I told them I preferred to visit the bank in person the next day. At that point, they abruptly hung up.

Beware, there are unsavoury individuals who are lurking around, masquerading as representatives of RBS, all in a bid to get hold of your banking information. Make sure to report them to the authorities immediately. Stay vigilant!

Got a call about a booking transaction (###) that supposedly went through twice on my old RBS business account. They actually knew my name from before my divorce, which was a bit unsettling. They asked for my customer number, but when I told them I don’t have an RBS business account anymore, the person said they’d check on it and then just ended the call. Definitely felt dodgy to me. Tried ringing the RBS fraud team to report it, but I can't get past the queue. I closed that business account last year anyway.

Initially, I got a message from RBS stating, "In line with your request, we shall be ringing you shortly." Around thirty minutes later, a call came through from this number, claiming to be RBS, saying they were following up on my call-back request. I informed them that I had not made such a request, and then suddenly, the line went silent. Clearly, it’s a scam!

Had a ring this arvo from someone saying they was from RBS, checking up on a transaction on my account. First thing they wanted was my 10 digit account number. Seemed pretty legit at first, but then I remembered - I don't even have an account with RBS! I gave RBS a bell and chatted with their fraud team. They told me the number really belongs to RBS, but scam folks have got tricks now that let them call you so your phone shows a legit number. So be really careful if you get a call from that number. According to RBS, if they ever do call you, it’s always from a blocked or withheld number.

Got a call from this number around 5.36pm yesterday, they said they were from RBS phone banking. I was a bit iffy about it and didn’t give them any info when they started asking about a cancelled payment. Heads up, this number might look like it’s from RBS but it’s not legit. Definitely don’t ring them back on the same number they called from.
