I rang Sainsbury’s Bank but they weren’t able to confirm if the number was theirs. Then I spoke with their fraud team who also couldn’t confirm it. They said it might be genuine, but they weren’t 100% certain either.

NOT A SCAM This is actually an automated message from the credit card fraud team. I called Sainsbury’s myself, and they verified it was legit and why I got it. A bit confusing as the message comes from Lloyds banking group, which handles the fraud detection for Lloyds, RBS, Sainsburys, Halifax and a few others.

TOTALLY FAKE! Got a call claiming to be from my credit card fraud team. They had some of my personal info! I didn’t share any more details and rang the number on the back of my card straight away. My card company said this number was NOT theirs and none of the purchases mentioned had been made on my card! ALWAYS RING YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD PROVIDER USING THE NUMBER ON YOUR CARD!
