Got charged for a scam, unbelievable.

This number came up when I asked for a Customer Service contact to check if a call was legit or just some random cold caller. Given the bad vibes around the number, I kinda figured it was probably a scam.

I made an order from EasyLife, which was delivered with no problem. I then found a debit card payment for £69.49 on 24 September and another for the same amount on 2 December 2024. These showed PODClubs 0345 174 05 as the retailer, also with a location in Kent. EasyLife is also based in Kent. I also had to phone EasyLife before I had seen these payments, as I had been receiving letters from charities, all from different charities, two to four every day. One charity told me how they had received my information. I rang EasyLife, who agreed to make a note that EasyLife had to keep my information private. Whether they will do this remains to be seen. I will phone PODClubs next week.

Just got a letter through from Premier Offers Club saying my 28-day free trial is nearly over and they’ll be charging me £10 soon. They said it would come out on the card linked to my account and will show as PODClubs 03451740592 on the bank statement.

Got a call from an unknown number, tried to reply via email but never got a response. Seemed like a typical cold call.

I got a call from someone trying to sell me free trials and stuff. While she was talking, I decided to check the number online and found loads of bad reviews. The moment I told her I was searching the number, she just hung up on me. Definitely don’t trust this one.

Got a call on 24th Oct 2022, then today, 10th Nov 2022, my mum got a letter saying I have until 21st Nov 2022 to cancel or they’ll charge me. Honestly, I’m not sure what’s going on and it’s all a bit confusing to me.

If you’re trying to get hold of the shopping club’s customer service, it’s on 08004725975. They said I needed to wait three working days before calling again to cancel, which is pretty frustrating. Not pleased with how they handle things.

I didn't receive a phone call, but when I logged into my online banking on 24th August, I was rather taken aback to discover that Easylife had withdrawn £139.00 from my account on 22/08/22. I haven't had any interaction with them in at least three years, and I definitely haven't placed any orders since then, nor have I received anything. I decided to ring Easylife and spoke with a gentleman who tried to clarify the situation. He couldn't pinpoint the reason for the charge but assured me that I'd receive a refund in two instalments of £69.50 over the next month. It seems to me that 'The Rewards Club' has taken over Easylife's details and may have linked them to other companies that might also come after my money. I've informed my bank about this issue. Furthermore, I've received two letters from different firms requesting payment for additional cards, but the deadline for my trial period has elapsed. It feels to me like these sorts of companies are specifically targeting the elderly. To put it plainly, this all appears to be a scam.

Apparently, there’s this woman called Lena who claimed to be from one of those sister outfits tied to Easylife shopping. She mentioned that, as a frequent shopper, I was eligible for a £15 voucher. To be honest, I was quite sceptical about it, so I decided to end the call. Since then, she’s tried to ring me a couple more times, yet I didn’t bother picking up.

Today, I received a call from a chap named Jonathan regarding something called the Easylife Shopping Rewards Club, which, it turns out, comes with a bit of a price tag! He then proceeded to pitch me on subscribing to puzzle magazines, which was a bit odd. He even asked what my favourite colour was! Apparently, there’s a £25 voucher involved which he promised I could hold on to, even if I decided to cancel the free trial of this shopping rewards thing. It’s been ages since I last dealt with them-since 2019, in fact-so they must be feeling the pinch to reach out to me again. I'm definitely going to block this number!

I received a call from someone claiming to be associated with Easylife shopping, insisting that they were offering a reward card. However, I suspect there's been a mix-up or misunderstanding, as this doesn’t seem to link back to Easylife at all.

I received a call from what they claimed was a sister company of Easylife. They were offering a £15 voucher alongside some supermarket deal. When they attempted to charge my previous payment method from Easylife, I decided to end the conversation, and then the call just cut off completely. The bloke on the other end introduced himself as Danny and had an Asian accent.

I received a message from what claimed to be a sister company of Easylife, offering me a £15 voucher as a reward for being a valued customer and signing up for their rewards programme. I informed a chap named "James" that I wasn't particularly keen on the idea. Now I've discovered that £1.99 has been debited from my bank account, using the payment information I provided to Easylife. Quite concerning, if you ask me!
