It's tough to figure out if they’re genuine or just scammy. They usually call sometime between 9 and 10 in the morning, stay quiet for a good minute, then just disconnect. Really weird behaviour.

So I looked it up here and it turns out it’s supposed to be Lowell Finance calling. I’ve got 6 debts with Three phone company thanks to some selfish family members, and I’m chipping away at them through Direct Debits with this firm. Maybe next time I’ll pick up and find out what’s what. The debts date back to 2018 and add up to about £685. I told them I can only manage £15 a month for everything. Those awful relatives have blocked me and vanished, so there’s no chance of them paying me back.

The caller then tried to fish details about me, and when I tried to end the call, he kept stalling, saying he had to check something with his computer to update info. I just told him to do as he pleased, it’s not my problem, and I slammed the phone down.

When I wouldn’t give any info and said they were the ones calling me, the bloke tried to guess half my address and part of my postcode. I really don’t trust these people at all. PLEASE WATCH OUT.

Got a call just after 8 this morning, someone asking for Britney Spires (or whatever). They then wanted to double check we weren’t at number 54. Finished by saying they’d take our number off their list within a day. Never said who they were and it seemed like they had the wrong number, but honestly feels a bit dodgy, maybe some scam in the making, so we’ll be cautious from now on. The number does show up linked to a debt collector but there’s no reason why they should be after us!

Lowell’s are absolute nightmares. I paid off a debt back in 2014 and was on a payment plan. Then in 2017, I began getting calls from a different debt collection agency. I explained the situation and the settlement to them, and they said they would remove me from their records. But come 2020, Lowell’s started bombarding me with letters and ringing up to 6 times a week. I still get them now, but I block everything. They just keep trying their luck, hoping someone will cough up, even though it’s long been sorted. They’re seriously awful.

This number seemed a bit suspicious so I picked up just to see if I should block it. As soon as I answered, it just cut off straight away, so pretty clearly a scam. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from homecoverprotect at unit 1 old station yard, station road Petworth GU28OJF about my kitchen appliance warranty supposedly expired. I never had any warranty apart from the one when I bought them new. Told them I wasn’t interested, then out of nowhere got a letter in the post thanking me for my business and showing a policy starting 9th November with 12 monthly payments of £30. Absolutely no way I signed up for this, total con artists.

I got the name of the company after a few calls and told them I’m fed up with their constant ringing. I also informed them the person they’re after hasn’t been at this number (mine) for more than 10 years now. The company is called Lowell Financial. From what I know, Lowell Financial Ltd are a firm that handle debt collection for people who owe money. They work with firms like Vanquis Credit Cards, Capital One, O2, Littlewoods and others.
