Lowell finance keeps ringing me again, clogging up an emergency line meant for urgent blood and transplant cases, making it impossible to get through. I've told the Hi Tech crime squad and BT’s investigation team since they're breaking the network rules. We need to keep complaining to get these scammers’ phone lines cut and put them out of action!

Lowell has rung me today and also last week. I’ve blocked the number, but somehow they’re still managing to get through and leaving an automated message with a reference number, telling you to keep your debit card ready with that number. I reckon I had a better experience! I just asked if they were trying to reach someone specific by name. They even asked if this was door number 5 or something strange like that. But when I told them to call the person they wanted on their own number, they actually agreed it was a wrong number. They said they’d remove me from their list in the next 24 hours. Fingers crossed it actually happens, otherwise I’ll be getting more calls soon enough.

Best thing you can do is just block those muppets. Don’t bother responding, just ignore ’em. If they’re threatening or calling way too often, keep a record of it all. And if you do have to say something back, make sure you write down any threats or hinted threats from those bullies.

Some bloke rang claiming he was with BT OpenReach and said there was an issue with my phone line. I hadn’t noticed any problems nor had I reported anything. He asked to link a BT server to my laptop to do some testing. I told him that sounded risky and asked for his number so I could ring back. He said he got why I was worried but insisted it was the only way to find the fault.
