A bloke called Mathew phoned me sayin he needed meter readings for EE cos their system was down. I told him I'd already sent them. He knew my full name and address which was weird. I said id call back. An hour later he rings me again pushin for the readings. Kept insisting so i told him to get lost. Had loads of calls from that number before. Definitely scammers.

Got a call on my landline from someone claiming to be from Economy Energy asking for a meter reading. They said they were from EE (Economy Energy) and claimed their system was offline, asking for a meter reading. But I was still able to log into my online account no problem, so their story doesn't add up. They also knew my postcode which is odd. Makes me wonder if someone’s hacked into EE’s customer info or if this data was given out by EE themselves?

Yesterday, a lady rang me from this number saying she was ringing "for" Economy Energy and needed a meter reading because their system was supposedly down. Since I’d already had a call from this number before, I was suspicious and told her she was a scammer and to stop calling, then ended the call. I actually sent my meter reading online without any trouble and got a confirmation email too. Today the same number called again but I just ignored it.

This is definitely not energy from Economy Energy! I reached out to verify, and what I found was quite alarming. The gentleman on the phone claimed to be representing them, but when I mentioned that I couldn’t spare a moment to check my meter, he turned quite aggressive. About a month ago, I was absolutely bombarded with messages from a company claiming to offer energy savings. someone rang saying they were from economy energy asking for my meter readings. since theyre my supplier, i gave them the info. then they wanted to do a quick survey about my home, like if i had pets, a dishwasher, or if i owned the place. i told them that stuff had nothing to do with gas or electric and then ended the call. later i phoned economy energy and they said they had no idea about any such call!
