This is a scam from Virgin, i got a call this morning but didnt pick up. They left a voicemail with this number though. I rang my bank using the number on my card and they connected me to their fraud dept about 2 payments i tried to make yesterday night. Everything got sorted out, they blocked my card just in case. If you’re ever unsure, ring your bank using the number on your card. This is definitely Virgin Fraud related.

This is the 5th time today I’ve got a call from someone claiming to be the fraud team about our account. After looking into it, there’s nothing unusual on the account so if you get one of these PLEASE DO NOT PRESS ANY KEYS and hang up straight away. It’s a SCAM. If you press anything apart from ending the call, you might end up getting charged a premium rate and worse, they could get hold of your phone info and personal details.

I received a recorded voicemail claiming it was from the fraud squad at Virgin Bank. Just to be safe, I reached out to my bank using a different number, and they assured me that there were no unusual transactions on my account. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

Don’t pay any attention to those claiming it’s a scam or fraud. I’m certain this really is Virgin Money Fraud. Spent time speaking to them today myself. At first, you’ll hear an automated voice asking you to verify some info, but after that, you’ll finally connect with a genuine person from their Fraud department. Take it seriously. It could make a huge difference for your finances!

Got a text from Virgin Money Fraud saying there was a transaction of over £2000 on my card & asking if it was me, reply Y or N. At first I thought it was a dodgy scam, but then I checked my account and saw the money had been taken. I quickly replied No, didn’t make it, and someone from their fraud team called me back. They sorted everything, cancelled my card and all that. They’d already flagged it as suspicious which was reassuring. Big thanks to Virgin Money for sorting it out so fast!

Yep, this is really Virgin Money. There's a message about 15 posts down that explains what to do if your bank contacts you out of the blue. Just watch out because scammers often put up fake scam alerts on legit bank numbers and false safe notes on scam numbers. They've also cloned all sorts of bank phone numbers, so be cautious and check that advice from the 19/11/22 post.

Got a call from what said it was the Virgin Money Fraud Team. I rang the number off Virgin Money’s site, then got passed on to what they told me was the fraud department. I phoned them back, and they said they’d cancel my card and fix it for me. Just to be safe, I also called the bank’s fraud line I found online, and they confirmed everything was legit.

I recently came across a rather peculiar text message that I thought I ought to share. It started off with, "Greetings MISS... this is an urgent correspondence." It went on to mention that some odd transactions had been detected on my Virgin Money debit card ending in ????. The message queried whether I had made a purchase on 26th March 2020 at sparkfromcandy.com for £29.99, and urged me to reply with "Y" or "N". I did not entertain the idea of responding since the message lacked any reference to my bank's name, and the number presenting itself was 07786205097. When I checked my bank's official website, it clearly stated that they would never reach out to me in such a manner. Honestly, I have my reservations about this entire situation-definitely not something to be taken lightly!

This morning at about 8:20 I got a dodgy text from 447786205097 which mentioned the last 4 numbers of my Virgin account asking if I had a transaction at 9:20 later today. If you get a text from 0333 045 9806 saying it’s from Royal Mail, Hermes or some other courier saying there’s a parcel waiting for you and you need to pay a small extra fee, ignore it. It’s a scam. There’s no parcel at all. The link in the message takes you to a fake site designed to nick your card details. Real delivery firms will leave a grey card if there’s any fee, they won’t just text you out of the blue. Have a watch of this Royal Mail video to learn more about this con.

If you reply Y, they won't bother you again. If you say N, they'll give you a call and drop a voicemail. If you're unsure, and you have a mobile account, try the live chat. They’ll confirm if the bank attempted to get in touch, or you can call the number on the back of your card. Be careful and protect your cash!

Yeah it’s legit. I thought it was dodgy at first since it was an automated call about suspicious activity. Didn’t call back because the number didn’t match the one Virgin Bank gave me for fraud issues. When I rang Virgin’s official number and asked about the other number, they said it was one of theirs. Then I checked again with Clydesdale Bank’s customer service on their official number and they confirmed it was genuine too, 03330 459 806.

Absolutely not Virgin Money! This number was linked to a dodgy payment involving Hermes, supposedly for the re-delivery of a package from the States. After I foolishly settled the delivery fee, I realised my mistake, but by then, they had already managed to get hold of some of my bank details. Before I could alert my bank about the Hermes charge and cancel it, I received a fake text, which falsely claimed there were suspicious activities on my account, followed by a call from the aforementioned number. I chose not to pick up, and instead contacted Virgin directly using the official number on my card to sort everything out. Their fraud team mentioned that Hermes has recently become the latest target for these con artists. So, do keep your wits about you!
