I phoned the number listed on my credit card and found out that 0333 045 9642 is actually a scammer. Glad I didn't share any details with the caller. It all began when I got a message from the scammer saying my card had been charged £162 and asking me to reply yes or no if it was me. When I replied no, the call from 03330459642 came straight after. Watch out for this one!

Got an automated message... watch out, they might use your name... they told me to ring back with a special code! I called Lloyds on their legit number... They put me through to the fraud team. They told me THEY DIDN'T CALL ME or send any code or voicemail recently. Since they had my name, I reckon my laptop, travel booking site, or my calendar might’ve been compromised as I used them last night. Not blaming anyone, just letting you know voice messages might not always be legit just because you spent money a day ago.

It's quite alarming how easily someone can pretend to be someone else. My spouse got a call from this Halifax number; it was an automated voice. Although she does have an account, the message was completely off-base regarding her type of savings account. She promptly ended the call. A mere 15 seconds later, I received a call from the identical number, delivering the same message, albeit they muddled my first name... I'm definitely not a woman, nor do I have any account with Halifax. This is entirely a SCAM. Don't be fooled by any claims suggesting this is a legitimate Lloyd's Bank contact. It most certainly isn’t.

No idea who these people are, but they’re defo not connected to Lloyds Bank. That’s the bank we use and we’ve already stopped the number from being able to call us anymore. This phone number really belongs to Lloyds Fraud team. Loads of folks seem to think it’s dodgy, so it often shows up flagged as suspicious. The reason you get a call from this number is after Lloyds sends you a text about a declined purchase, and you reply 'NO' saying it wasn’t you. The person on the line won’t ask for your PIN or anything like that. They can even verify your last transaction if you want. DON'T ever just brush off surprise calls from your bank. It's really important to ring them back using the phone number on the back of your debit or credit card. Banks actually use loads of different numbers to get in touch, so you can't always tell if it's a legit alert about your account or some dodgy scammer trying to nick your money. Some scammers even go as far as putting up false red warnings about real bank numbers, hoping folks will block them or report to '7726' - which sets off a system on your phone company’s end marking all future calls from that number as scams. Stay sharp!

If you ring your bank to verify if a call is genuine (like some mentioned below), the customer service team can tell if the bank actually tried to get in touch and will put you through to the right team or sort it out. They usually don’t know every single number the bank uses though. Even if the call centre says it’s a scam, it doesn’t always mean the number itself is dodgy. Got two texts saying to expect a call from Lloyds (which is my bank), and they even got the last 4 digits of my credit card right. Then this number rings me, but they hang up before I can pick up. FRAUD ALERT! Got a text from Halifax - they’ve contacted me on this number before and it was genuine then. This one said I’d get another message soon. Next, I got a text from a different number saying a payment was declined and it even had the right last 4 digits of my card. The day after, I got two missed calls and a voice message from another number. The voicemail was automated too, saying there was a declined payment on my card. I’m not answering any calls or replying to texts, keeping an eye on my online account, and have sent pics of the messages to the fraud department.

Got a text from someone claiming to be 'Lloyds' saying id get another message soon. Then i got another text from a strange number saying my card had stopped a payment, gave details like date, time, website and amount. The text said "No need to call just reply to this message." Right after, the same number rang me saying she was from Lloyds and wanted to assist coz there were two tries from different places and amounts. Told Lloyds myself and they said its a well planned scam. TOTAL SCAM. Card is blocked now just to be safe!

I've been a victim of bank fraud and it's been quite a nightmare. I've received countless calls from various scammy numbers, including the one listed above. Thankfully, my accounts are securely frozen now, but it's been a worrying experience for sure.

0333 045 9642 keeps calling pretending to be from Lloyds bank fraud department. Sounds like a total scam to me. They keep ringing back both my mobile and landline. Really fishy!

Got a voicemail from 07723 194557 asking me to ring 03330 459560 about a payment of 92p that supposedly got declined on my debit card. They warned me that if I don’t sort it, my card might get blocked later. I spoke to Lloyds bank and they confirmed that my card was indeed blocked because of this small 92p charge. What’s weird is the caller mentioned the last 4 digits on my card and even knew my middle name, which isn’t on the card anywhere.

This one was pretty clever, almost got me doubting if it was legit or not. First, I got a believable text from a number pretending to be "Lloyds", then from a different number, another message asking if I’d made a recent purchase. When I replied no, they rang straight away, giving zero time to think properly. Thankfully, I didn’t pick up and trusted my instincts, but I can see how loads of folks could fall for this. Honestly, I hope these scammers rot in hell for preying on the elderly and vulnerable without any conscience.

Got a bogus text claiming I needed to book a PCR test cause of covid. Then I got calls from someone saying they were from Lloyd's bank. We ended up cancelling the card. Tried to spend money on Nike and Deliveroo orders. Lucky I dodged a proper mess by the skin of my teeth.

I rang Halifax using the number on my card, but they had no idea about the number that contacted me. Seems like a pretty clever scam - they send a txt about suspicious activity pretending to be Halifax, and when you say you didn’t make the transaction, you get a call from a supposed Halifax automated service. That’s when i stopped and called Halifax myself straight away.

03330459641 These are definitely scammers, they send a couple of texts asking if you recently bought something, which obviously you haven’t done! As soon as you say no, they ring you up pretending to want to "sort out" some fraud. Best thing to do is just block the number or if you're feeling cheeky, pretend to go along with it and maybe record the chat to put on YouTube for a laugh if you’re bored!

Got a robocall claiming to be from Halifax about fraud on my credit card, but I’d already spoken to their fraud team earlier because there were indeed some dodgy charges. Problem is, the messages from the robo-call didn’t match what the real team told me, and the number they gave wasn’t legit either. The fraud team warned me that scammers might already have my contact info - looks like they do! Always double-check bank numbers yourself or on the back of your card, don’t trust unexpected calls!
