Got a call off someone acting like they were from Halifax Fraud. I’d just made a report about odd charges on my card, then they rang me back pretending to be the fraud department.

A few hours after trying to scam me on my mobile, this number rang me on both my mobile and landline. I got a call back number supposedly from Halifax about a dodgy charge on my credit card. The weird thing is, the message with the number came from a UK mobile, so I’m not sure it was really from Halifax. I rang it back since it didn’t look risky, but I just got put on hold. While I was away overseas, I got a voicemail on my landline from someone saying they were from the Halifax Fraud team. I looked up the number online and saw loads of bad reviews, but most of them seemed a bit off or not properly checked. Legit number, I checked with my credit card provider after getting alerts about two suspicious purchase tries - one got blocked but the other went through. I called this number, then logged into my online banking to verify everything, and also rang the credit card company using the number on the back of my card.
