I just received a text from HSBC, mentioning they need to verify a payment of xxxx.xx GBP to Paypal. It advises calling a specific number for further discussion. Quite suspicious, I must say!

Beware, this number 500 is definitely up to no good, and it’s connected to the phone number 03330124541. If you check, you’ll see it links to a Facebook page called Education Complete Consultancy (https://www.facebook.com/educationcompleteconsultancy/). Best thing is, dont respond to any messages or ring back, it’s a total scam.

Got a message from this number earlier today. I gave it a ring but got stuck on hold and ended up hanging up. Since I don’t have accounts with HSBC or Paypal, I looked up the number online and stumbled upon this site. Really useful, cheers! Jan

I got a call from this number earlier, they asked me about a payment of £1899.00 supposedly from my PayPal linked to an HSBC account. Problem is, I don’t even have an HSBC account. The caller also mentioned that the account was connected to all my other banks which sounds totally fishy to me.

Got a text from 500 saying I should ring a number to confirm a payment of £1899 to Paypal made through HSBC. Problem is, I don’t even bank with HSBC and never sent any money to Paypal. Totally a scam!

Got a message from this number saying it was to confirm a payment at the Apple Store. Thing is, I've never bought anything from Apple. The only clue I got was the message showed up with an ID of 500. Seems dodgy to me.
