I got a text from Santander too but I don't have an account with them, so I rang my bank's card team. They said to just ignore any messages or calls from those numbers as they're actually premium and would cost you a fortune. Best thing is to just bin it and not reply at all.

Got a call just now at 18:55 from supposedly Santander saying they need to verify a 3480GBP payment to B&Q stores. They asked me to ring them back on 03330124563. I didn’t bother calling them and had a quick search online - turns out it’s a total scam.

Today I got a text from some call centre asking if I made a purchase at B&Q. A while back, my bank did the same but since they already had my details, I found it odd when she asked for my account and card numbers. I told her I didn’t have that info and she just ended the call. I could hear loads of people shouting in the background the whole time. Definitely a scam trying to fish out your bank details. Watch out!
