03330112490 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03330112490 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation impersonating O2, offering fake 40% discounts on contracts and phantom free phones, often citing COVID-19 as the reason. Callers typically have strong Asian or Indian accents, use scripted messages, and attempt to trick recipients into sharing a one-time code sent via text, which is a known fraud tactic. Victims report repeated calls from numbers with minor variations, poor English, and calls from crowded call centres. Many warn not to provide any personal or banking details, as the scammers request deposits or card information, leading to fraudulent contracts or financial loss. Genuine O2 confirms never to ask for such codes or payments via unsolicited calls. Blocking the numbers and ignoring these calls is strongly advised.

I’m so fed up with these numbers ringing me non-stop, multiple times every day. I keep blocking them but they just pop up again using a different number with the last few digits switched around. When they do leave a voicemail, it’s always that same recorded message from some call centre. Can’t believe I’m already on my 10th blocked number!

Got a call from a woman with a heavy accent, sounded like she was from Africa. Her English was really hard to follow and all I caught was something about a network. I said sorry that I couldn’t understand her properly and then ended the call.

Received a call earlier claiming to be from O2, touting a fantastic 40% reduction on my line rental charges. They were insistent on getting a verification code that O2 supposedly sent to me, suggesting that sharing this code was necessary to secure the discount. *CAUTION ADVISED* You’ll be receiving a one-time security code shortly. PLEASE DO NOT share this code with anyone! If you get a call asking for such information, be assured they do NOT represent O2. If you have any doubts about fraud, ring us at 202 so we can safeguard your account. The initial communication from O2 confirmed it was a fraudulent call, as I hadn’t requested any code at all.

The call showed up as O2, and they told me I could get 40% off due to Covid. But when I mentioned I was on a business plan, they seemed off guard and ended the call pretty quick.

Definitely a SCAM. Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from O2 and offering me a 40% cut on my mobile plan. She said she'd send me two texts, one containing a verification code to prove she was legit. I didn’t trust it, so I hung up and called O2 from a different phone. They told me the call wasn’t from them at all. Glad I didn’t share any personal details - felt fishy from the start.

Got a phone call from a woman called Miya, seemed to have an Asian accent. She mentioned something about giving me a 40% discount on my mobile because of Covid. I told her I hadn’t requested this call and wasn’t interested. Asked her to take my info out of their system. She said "OK," but then there was this awkward, long silence. After a bit, she repeated, "Madam, do you want the 40% off?" Felt like she was just reading from a script and didn’t quite get my English. I just said “No” and stayed quiet after that. Eventually, she just hung up.

According to what I've seen, the reports indicate that O2 is currently offering a staggering 40% off due to the impact of COVID-19. It’s quite curious, as I received a call from that very number just last week. The person on the other end mentioned something about the alarming rise in COVID fatalities prompting O2 to provide these significant discounts. It makes one wonder, doesn’t it?

Beware of 0333 011 2490, total scam! They rang pretending to be from O2 and sounded really legit. They promised a free Pro 12 or a huge 40% discount, then asked for my debit card to take a supposedly refundable £30 deposit. Of course, the phone never showed up. When I contacted O2, they said no phone had been ordered. I then got onto my bank, who confirmed it was a fraud - they’d somehow started a contract with Three Mobile in my name and got the phone sent out. I’m now dealing with Three Mobile’s fraud team and had to cancel my debit card. What a stressful mess! 😬

Same here, someone said they were from O2 but I told them I’m not a customer. They went on about some 40% discount related to COVID. The background was really loud, sounded like a busy call centre with a thick Asian accent. Ended up hanging up and blocking the number right away.

I received a rather dubious phone call from someone posing as O2, claiming they were providing a 40% discount because they were 'losing customers.' They asked for a code, perhaps assuming I had a monthly contract with them, which I don’t. They even had O2 send me a couple of text messages, the second one containing a code which they insisted I share. My son advised me to hang up immediately, rightly pointing out that it was a scam. To my surprise, they even rang me back after I ended the call. The texts looked legitimate, appearing to come from O2 UK.

I just had a dodgy caller claiming to be from O2, saying they could give me a whopping 40% off because they were ‘losing customers thanks to COVID’. They even got O2 to send me two texts, with the second one requiring a code I was supposed to share! Just a heads up - if you get a call like this, don’t fall for it! It’s a total scam, so best to hang up straight away.

Got a call this morning but there was so much noise, like people yelling nearby, couldn’t really catch what she was saying. Seemed like she was stuck in a busy call centre. She kept saying the same thing again and again. Told her to ring me back when she’s somewhere quieter cause all i could hear was her mates chatting away. I ended the call after that. No comeback from them so far.

Some woman, who I struggled to catch half of what she was saying, kept going on about some 40% reduction on my phone plan even though I was replying in another language. I received a rather tempting offer from O2, claiming I could snag a 40% discount on my monthly bill. They sent me a code, instructing me to recite it back to them. I pointed out that such a method seems rather dodgy, and that O2 doesn’t operate in that manner. Naturally, I suspected a scam. Despite my reservations, she maintained that she wasn’t trying to deceive me. I decided to keep her on the line for a good eight minutes, feigning interest and kindness just to see how far it would go. I must admit, it was quite entertaining to watch her squirm before she finally gave up. Here's hoping she learns a lesson about her daft tactics!

Got a call from an Indian woman claiming to be from my mobile provider. When I asked which network, she just said "yours."
