They were acting like they were from O2, but I wasn’t falling for it. Immediately blocked!

I got calls from this number claiming to be O2, and it even showed O2 on my caller ID. They rang me twice back-to-back; right after I ignored the first ring, the phone started again. O2 don’t usually call out of the blue unless you’ve asked them to first, so don’t pick up if you haven’t requested a call from them. I’ve flagged this number as suspicious since they clearly faked the O2 caller ID and kept ringing non-stop.

Got a call from this number but there was just silence on the other end. When I rang back, it went straight to a voicemail with a standard O2 marketing message. It’s listed as O2, but I’m not convinced it’s genuine. Since it’s pretending to be O2, I’m flagging this one as suspicious.

Phone showed as spam so I just let it ring. Glad to see others sharing their experiences with these kinds of calls, helps to know what's going on.

The call showed up as o2, so I picked up, but I was quite wary since my partner and I have been getting loads of dodgy calls recently. Normally, I mention that I’m not with *X network* just to check how they react. This time, they just ended the call straight away. Soon after, I got another ring from a number that was almost the same, also showing as o2, but this time they said they were from Vodafone?! Definitely looks like a scam to me.

Got a call claiming I was a loyal customer and offering me a deal on my current package. They even mentioned the price and extras I’d added on. They asked for my email and address too. While still on the phone, I looked up the number here and noticed loads of warnings about it. I rang O2 myself, and they told me they won’t call first unless I ask them to. Felt pretty dodgy, to be honest.

Watch out for calls starting with 02, mine was from one of those numbers last month. They claim it’s legit but its a total scam. When O2 ring you they use a 020 code, but these dodgy ones trick you into signing up for a phone contract, then somehow vanish and leave you stuck with a massive bill. I’ve had enough so now I’ve blocked that number. Also, if you get a call from 0330 303 5315, it’s definitely a con. Don’t pick up!

Got in touch with o2 from my own o2 phone and dialled the 202 direct line - they confirmed it was a scam for sure.

Swap your plan and keep some cash. They asked loads of stuff to check who we were, like email and other personal details. We told them to ring us back before finishing up the deal. While waiting, I phoned O2 on another line, and they said the call was recorded and there’s already a contract showing up on their system, all set to be activated.

I got a call from someone pretending to be from O2, and they kept pushing me to confirm I was the account holder. It felt like they were fishing for my details with all their talk about “special offers” and “you don’t want to miss this.” I refused to agree to anything - my advice is never to say yes when you’re not certain on the phone with these sorts of calls.

The caller claimed to be with O2, but it was obvious they were just some call centre based in India. They told me my contract had ended, which isn't true at all. Then they tried saying my monthly bill was £23 - totally wrong again. I ended up just hanging up straight away.

It shows up as an O2 number on my phone, but when I checked with O2, they said it's a spoofed call. The people on the other end have an Indian accent and keep telling me my contract's about to expire, offering to help me upgrade. Problem is, my contract still has ages to go, so it's obviously a con. They ring me several times a week.

My husband picked up the phone but we weren’t home at the time. He said it was an 02 number and mentioned he was in a shop. Then they called again. I told him to just block it because it’s probably a scam. How do they even get hold of all those contract details? I’ve seen other comments and it seems like it’s getting worse and worse.

I just got a call from this number. A woman with a South African accent, spoke flawless English and oddly knew all my billing info. She sounded so confident and professional. She was trying to sell me some deal about adding a tablet and lowering my monthly charges. I told her I’d have to check the number first before deciding, and honestly, glad I did. Something didn’t quite sit right with me.

Yeah, about an hour after leaving the O2 shop with my brand new phone, I got a call. The woman on the line rattled off every single detail about my purchase - my previous phone, the model I just bought, the exact offer I took, even the free accessory they gave me, plus she clearly had my phone number. Sounded legit at first, but as soon as she asked for my bank info, I just hung up. Proper clever trick, that. Watch out, folks!

Total scam alert! I got a call from a number showing as O2 on my phone. When I answered, some bloke started by saying they had an offer for me and needed to check it was really me speaking. I just said thanks and hung up straight away. Honestly, don’t bother answering calls from that number.

I got a call showing as if it was from 02, but it was clearly a scam. The caller was pushing me to switch my phone plan to them, but when I asked for any info about my account, they wouldn’t give me anything. Instead, they kept asking for loads of my personal details under the guise of data protection, which felt dodgy and like they wanted to use my info for something bad. Honestly, I’d avoid picking up if you see this number!

Got a ring while I was working, and it showed O2 on the caller ID. I picked up and just told them I was busy and couldn't talk. Then, shortly after, some unknown business number from Leeds called me saying they’d received a missed call from me - looks like they’ve cloned my number. By answering, these scammers probably confirmed my number’s live. The bloke pretending to be from O2 had a proper English accent and was trying to chat about my mobile plan. Honestly, just ignore calls from this number.

I got a call and the screen showed O2, so I picked up, thinking there might be a problem with my account. An Indian lady asked if I was an O2 customer, while I quickly looked the number up online and saw it was a scam alert. She then started rattling off my contract info, but everything she said was off. I ended the call straight away. Felt pretty annoyed at myself for even answering. I heard that by picking up, you're basically telling scammers your number is live. I've blocked it now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the o2 loyalty team, sounded pretty much like what lots of others have mentioned here. The bloke was all over the place with what he was saying and there was loads of noise in the background. It didn’t sit well with me so I ended the call. Then I looked up reviews and seems like a bunch of folks had the same sort of thing happen. They called me back a few times straight after I cut off, but I just ignored them.

Got a few calls from this number earlier, my phone flagged it as a scam which made me wary. Then just a bit ago another call showed up as 02, but honestly if I wanted to speak to them I’d call them, not the other way around. Got another ring from them a few hours ago too. I've stopped picking up unless I’m expecting a call now, too hard to tell who’s really calling. Honestly, someone needs to put a stop to all these annoying types, it’s driving me mad!

I got a call from a woman but her line was really poor and dropped almost immediately after I picked up. Strange thing is, my Samsung saved the number as 02, yet it didn’t flag it as a potential scam, which kind of concerns me. Before I figured out it wasn’t really 02, I rang back, only to be greeted by a robotic voice saying something like “sorry, we couldn’t complete your call” and similar nonsense. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2. I asked them to hang on while I looked up the number and suddenly they got all shifty. Kept saying they didn’t want any bank info, yet said they had all my O2 details. Then out of nowhere, started quizzing me with loads of questions ‘for security’. I refused to answer anything and once I mentioned I’d tracked their number, they got really hostile and just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam attempt.

Got a call from this number today, which showed up as O2 on my caller ID. Didn’t pick up since the number didn’t look familiar. Decided to chat with O2 support, and the agent there looked into it for me. They said this number isn’t connected to O2 and didn’t really know how these scammers trick the caller ID to show as O2. They told me to definitely block the number and contact them again if I get another call from someone saying they’re from O2, as they only call if you’ve arranged in advance. Seriously, don’t pick up if you get a call from this number and block it immediately.

This has gotta be a scam, right? The caller claimed they wanted to chat about upgrading my contract, but I only renewed it a couple of months back. If they were really from O2, surely they'd have that info already and not bother me with that. Felt off to me!

Got a call on my fresh number that I’ve only given to one mate and never posted anywhere online, but somehow they knew my name right away. I’m starting to think someone from O2 might be leaking info, maybe an insider. They were trying to pitch some discount on my bill, which makes me think it’s a dodgy scheme run by call centres overseas using that info for their own benefit. He asked me for my email to “confirm” it, then said the new SIM would be sent in a couple of days and warned me not to log into my account for a bit. Felt fishy, so I rang O2 myself. Turns out these scammers had already got into my account, switched my email and password, and were trying to order a phone on my behalf! O2 fixed everything and told me to just ignore calls like that. They said they never call customers directly, only get in touch by text, email or post. Best to hang up straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2 with a British accent, but honestly, it felt really dodgy. I reckon quite a few folks might get tricked by them. Hope the cops can pay them a visit soon.

Got two calls from this number and both times the person on the other end claimed to be from O2. Thing is, they had really thick Indian accents which made it hard to follow. I told them to slow down so I could catch what they were saying, but instead of helping, they just cut me off straight away! Feels like my O2 data might be at risk here, pretty sure these calls weren’t legit and are just some kind of scam.

Got a call from O2 trying to sell me a new contract, but surprisingly I found a better deal elsewhere. They did text me from an O2 UK number and also emailed me from what looked like a proper address, so it seemed pretty genuine. No complaints really!

I picked up but no one spoke, then all I could hear was what sounded like a busy call centre in the background, so I ended the call. After seeing what others said, I decided to block the number.

Picked up ‘cos the caller ID showed 02 but the number was unfamiliar. An Indian bloke was on the line, but his words were mostly unclear to me. He was trying to offer some sort of improved deal, though I’d just secured a cracking deal with 02 a couple of days earlier. Pretty sure it was a scam or some dodgy trick. Blocked the number straight away - no time for that rubbish!

This number called me and, since I was expecting a few calls, I picked up even though it wasn't saved in my contacts. A woman with a foreign accent greeted me using my name, which immediately felt suspicious, and then asked the usual "how are you today" question. She said she was from O2 and inquired about how old my phone was, if I fancied a new contract, and if anyone else at home might be interested in a pay-as-you-go deal. I simply replied no to everything, and she hung up shortly after. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from 0330 303 5315, it was a woman with an Indian accent. She seemed to have loads of info about me - even knew my phone contract and my name. She began talking about reviewing my contract, but when I questioned her, she suddenly got rude and just ended the call. Definitely a scammer with my personal details. Looks like O2 has leaked my info somewhere. Really disappointed.

They keep ringing me up trying to pitch some better deal. It was really difficult to understand what they were saying. I don't even have an account with the company, but they still wanted me to give them my info like name, address and security answers... no way, thanks!

Haha, I picked up thinking it was O2 since it showed up on my phone, but there was loads of noise in the background. I said hello and a guy with a really strong Indian accent asked if he was speaking to Miss. I gave him my first name and said yes. Then he claimed he was from O2, saying because I’d been with them for ages, they wanted to offer me some family and friends perks or something. I’m no fool though, I’ve only been with O2 a month! Found it pretty funny, so just laughed and told him thanks but no thanks, obviously a dodgy call. Hung up quick and I'm gonna block that number now.

When I answered, my Samsung smart caller flagged it as an 02 number, but right away I heard loads of muffled noise in the background. Then there was this weird thump sound like someone had dropped the phone or stumbled, followed by complete silence. I tried ringing back and got an automated message saying it was 02's marketing department. Honestly, I’m not sure if that’s the truth or just a clever scam in disguise. Either way, doesn’t really matter - scammer or pushy sales, best to just ignore the call.

So I got a call from someone claiming he worked at o2, he even told me his name. He somehow knew what phone and smartwatch I owned, and when I last changed my contract. Then he asked if I fancied an iPad for just £11 a month. I already own one, so I told him no thanks. There was no pushy sales stuff or scams, just a straightforward offer. Seems like a genuine sales call to me.
