Absolute scam! Got a text claiming: HSBC says my card was charged £179.99 at SAINSBURYS.CO.UK on 22-11-2024 at 6:31 PM (Ref: #OPPGD10F). They said the payment was refused. This HSBC business account thing or HSBC's system feels really weak on security. From this number and loads of others, someone attempts to use my card every couple of days, sending me a text with a code asking me to confirm it. It’s quite worrying because about a year ago, a massive amount was taken from me. Since then, nearly every 2 or 3 days, there’s another try, especially at places like Argos, Costco, and some online phone shops. It's just not safe at all.

Wasn't certain if this number was real, so popped into my local HSBC to check. They said yeah, it is their official fraud team’s line. But since scammers can fake numbers, best bet is if you get a call, just hang up and dial the number again yourself to be safe.

The number does belong to HSBC, but just so you know, scammers can fake it to seem like they're HSBC when they call. If you get a call out of the blue asking for your bank info or personal details, best to just end the call. While the number itself isn't dodgy, don't trust calls without double checking.

Got a text from this number asking for money for an Airbnb booking. Rang Lloyds on their official number and they said it’s definitely a scam. Be careful!

Got a one-time code supposedly from Lloyds Bank about an AirBNB booking I never made. I don’t even have an account with them, so it’s clearly a scam.

Beware of a scam! Got a message with a one-time code claiming to be from Lloyds bank about an Airbnb purchase. I checked the number and loads of others had reported the same thing. Definitely dodgy!

Got a dodgy text saying a payment to D Hitch as a trusted payee went through on 02/12 from LLOYDS-UK. Definitely smells like a scam to me.

On the 2nd of December, a new trusted payee named D Hitch was added successfully. If you didn’t authorise this, you should ring Fraud immediately on ++44330 220 4414. REF: HX91280

Got a text with a one-off code supposedly from AirBNB, plus a number to ring if I wasn’t expecting it. The caller said he was Nigel from Lloyds Fraud team, asked strange questions and said he’d ring me back at a set time. I ended the call, checked the number online and also checked my Lloyds messages - nothing matched up. Pretty sure it’s a dodgy scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, telling me I’d been offered a free iPhone 12. They seemed to have loads of info about my plan and payments, which was kinda creepy. When I called them out on being a scam, they started hassling me and even called me a p####. Really annoying experience!

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2 saying I’d won some sort of prize because of covid. It was a woman speaking, and honestly, it just felt like total rubbish. Definitely a scam.

Somebody pretending to be O2 got in touch, but after checking I found out they definitely weren’t. It was linked to some kind of account takeover scam, as they had bits of my info already (my account was partly hacked before). They spoke super quick and said I’d get two texts from "them" and wanted the code from the second one. Problem is, those messages are exactly what O2 sends when you make changes to your account, so clearly my account had been breached. I double-checked with O2 proper and they confirmed it was a scam.

I got a call from them earlier, some bloke who started going on about a 40% discount and then started asking a bunch of security stuff. I didn’t give him any answers and just ended the call. Since then, they've buzzed me like 9 more times!

This number has rung me a few times recently pretending to be from O2, which is supposed to be my phone company. The first time I told them I’m not actually with O2, but they tried again so I just blocked the number. Seems dodgy, probably just a scam trying to trick someone who actually is an O2 customer into handing over info.

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, saying they're gonna send me a promo code and asking me to confirm it. Turns out it was just a trick to get into my account. Total scam!

Got a call from O2 offering 40% off but they aren’t even an O2 customer, feels like another scam to me.

Got a call sayin they could slash 40% off my O2 phone bill, but it all felt a bit dodgy. Every time I ended the call, they rang me right back again, which just made me more wary.
