Got a message claiming to be from 'Binance', saying my account got accessed by someone in Singapore, BDOK. I never got an email from Binance about any suspicious login, only this text. I tried to get them to prove who they were, but the person kept saying they weren’t from a bank. When I asked for my balance info or my email address, they couldn’t provide it. So, I searched the number and quickly found out it’s a scam. Don’t share any details or follow their instructions, it’s definitely dodgy.

They said if I wasn’t the one who signed in, I should ring 03302204408 and gave a ref number 3127366. Lucky I checked it out first! It definitely seemed dodgy and probably a scam.

I rang them back and it sounded like a bank with all those automated options and a long wait, but then I got suspicious when the rep couldn’t tell me which banks we have credit cards with. When I didn’t give any details, they just ended the call. Seems like a clear phishing attempt to me!

Today, 1/11/24, I got a text from 07746 818465 saying something about NATIONWIDE. The message looked dodgy so I checked with ACTION FRAUD and they confirmed it’s a phishing scam pretending to be from NATIONWIDE Bank. My advisor was glad I didn’t ring the number they gave. Also, on another forum, someone pointed out that the top Google link for Zara is actually a fake number too. Pretty sneaky scams these days!

Watch out! I just got a text supposedly from my bank asking me to verify a payment. Honestly, don’t click any links or call the number they give you. Instead, use the official number on your bank’s website or your card to double-check. This is definitely a scam trying to trick you.

Got a text with an OTP for a huge ZARA payment. It told me to phone 0330 2204408 if I hadn’t made the purchase. I rang my bank straight away to check if anything had gone through or if some money was moving out. They confirmed there was no such payment on any of my accounts and warned me it was definitely a scam. Told me to just block the number and delete the message.

Got a text claiming to be from HSBCUK saying something about an OTP to approve a payment of £889.99 to EasyJet, code was 676754. It also had a number to call if it wasn't me, 03302204408, plus some reference number. Something felt off so I called my actual bank straight away. They told me never to call back or share those codes with anyone. Pretty clear it was a scam trying to steal info.

It appears that this text is the latest phishing attempt circulating, going by the remarks from others. I just got a rather dodgy message today (11th July 2023) claiming to be from HSBC about a supposed EasyJet charge of £899. Honestly, I’m scratching my head-where on earth does EasyJet fly that costs that much? I decided to ring the number back, and a chap with a British accent picked up. He started asking me to spell my name and wanted details about my account, which had alarm bells ringing in my head. It all seemed rather shady, so I promptly hung up and reported it to HSBC's fraud hotline. Better safe than sorry!
