Got a message from Lloyds saying there was a payment OTP for £452.83 to TUI. Then about 30 mins later, got another text from HSBC with the exact same amount. I don’t have accounts with either of these banks, so it’s got to be some kind of scam.

Got a message from +44 7594876927 which I didn’t recognise, it said I’d linked my card to something called Wallet Start for secure purchases and if I hadn’t done it, I needed to ring +44 330 220 4415 immediately. When I looked it up, I couldn’t find any Wallet Start, but there might be a Start Wallet. I also checked online lists of scam numbers and found loads of people had flagged that phone as suspicious. Got a text saying "Your OTP is 823173 for 580.43 GBP at AS0S. If this wasn't you, ring 0330 220 4415." Bit worrying as I haven't done any shopping there.

Got a random text saying I was given a one-time code for a huge transaction with ASOS, but I haven’t bought anything from them recently, and I’m not even sure I have an account there. The message told me to ring 03302204415 if I hadn’t made the purchase. When I called, the automated voice didn’t sound like it was from ASOS at all. I looked the number up and found loads of people saying it was a scam. Still a bit worried though, cos the amount they mentioned was over £900 - I definitely don’t have that kind of cash.

Problem is, I haven’t bought anything from ASOS lately and pretty sure I don’t even have an account with them. The message told me to ring 03302204415 if I wasn’t the one making the purchase. I gave the number a go, but the automated message didn’t sound like it was from ASOS at all. So, I checked online and found loads of people saying it’s a scam. Still feeling a bit worried since the text mentioned a payment of over £900 - I definitely don’t have that kind of cash to lose.

I got a text pretending to be from Barclays saying there was fraud on my account and to ring a certain number. The message looked a lot like the real ones I get from Barclays, so I just went along with it and called. They talked me through cancelling my card, but then things felt off - the old card still showed as active in my Barclays app and I never received any replacement card. That's when I realised I'd been scammed.

So I got a call from some guy named Kevin, claiming to be from O2 offering a special promotion. Oddly, he already had my name, address, and phone number, which was kinda scary. But then he asked for my security details, and that’s when I started getting really wary.
