Beware of this deceptive scam! I received a message supposedly from the fraud team at Lloyds Bank about a transaction. They mentioned a one-off passcode required for a payment to Airbnb, or so they claimed. Honestly, just block this number and steer clear!

Got a text that looked like it was from my bank, said there was a problem with my account and to ring a number straight away. It seemed legit, they said they were from Lloyds Bank. Turns out they took out a loan in my name, emptied my account, and even grabbed info from my joint account with my husband and tried to drain that one too. Lloyds haven’t been much help at all with sorting this mess, and are basically telling me I’m responsible for paying back the loan if they can’t get the money back. Please be careful and don’t fall for this like I did - it’s completely wrecked my life.

Got a message claiming to be from Lloyds Bank, but it didn't come from a proper phone number. Said something about a one-time code for some Airbnb payment. The number to ring if you think it’s fishy was included but I don’t even have an account with Lloyds! Be careful, folks!

Got this text on the 30th of Sept 2021 claiming to be from Lloyd’s bank. I’ve never had an account with them so obviously it’s a scam. The message said: Your One Time Passcode is 935901 for a payment of £652.50 to AIRBNB - Ref: RBSJ7. If you didn’t make this request, please contact fraud immediately on 0330 190 0171. Definitely steer clear of this one!!

Just like others said, it’s a complete rip-off. Someone pretending to be from the Lloyds fraud department got me. I believed them and ended up locked out of my account. They even managed to take out a loan and drained both that and my savings. Luckily, I contacted the real Lloyds fraud team and they’ve been really supportive so far.

Got a message saying I should call 03301900171 about confirming a Lloyds transfer or say it wasn’t me. I asked who was calling and for a contact number to check who they were, but they wouldn’t give any details and just told me to visit the branch instead.
